Any suggestions on an inexpensive wireless or bluetooth OBD II scanner?

I'm in the process of shopping for a used car and I also often do my own repairs and am planning on doing some tuning on a couple cars. I guess I'm looking for something I can use with an Android phone and/or a laptop (windows or linux). I don't even know what features are possible with one of these scanners. I would really like to be able to record & display real time system output, I guess they call this "live data".

I see that there are some $20-35 units that have 1000's to 10's of thousand units sold on Amazon. My friend has BlueDriver but that is like $120 which is more than I'd like to spend IF other units can do most of the same things for much less $$

I have this one with an old android phone that we no longer use, works OK. I just use to get fault codes though.
