Lots of info over on the B8 A4 forum since we have the same motor, seems like the Q5 side is more 3.0T focused.
With regards to spark plugs, yes factory heat range plugs are fine. In fact that is what IE recommended to me for Stage 2 I change them every 15k as the gaps are usually just about out of spec by then, but depending on how you drive you may get more out of them.
While you are doing the plugs I'd do ignition coils as well if you haven't already. the red top "R8" coils are a small upgrade and don't cost any more than the standard black top ones so I'd grab those.
In terms of other mods, you'll want an intercooler upgrade of some variety to prevent heatsoak. The one from the Q5/A6/A7/Macan TDI is a direct bolt on upgrade for the 2.0T and is noticeable bigger than stock. I found one on Ebay for $75 shipped, not as effective as the big aftermarket units but for Stage 2 it's definitely adequate, that's what I currently run.
Be sure to read up on maintenance over in the A4 forum though, that's key with these cars!
