    2012 Audi Q5 2.0T upgrades

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T and did following upgrades and was wondering if I need to add any more to keep engine and transmission run seamlessly
    IE Stage 2
    IE Downpipe
I will not be racing car, just my daily driver
I will also need to replace OEM spark plugs and was wondering with stage 2 ECU can I still go with OEM spark plugs or do I need something different?
Any input or suggestions will be really appreciated as this is not my cup of tea
    Thank you in advance

Lots of info over on the B8 A4 forum since we have the same motor, seems like the Q5 side is more 3.0T focused.

With regards to spark plugs, yes factory heat range plugs are fine. In fact that is what IE recommended to me for Stage 2 I change them every 15k as the gaps are usually just about out of spec by then, but depending on how you drive you may get more out of them.

While you are doing the plugs I'd do ignition coils as well if you haven't already. the red top "R8" coils are a small upgrade and don't cost any more than the standard black top ones so I'd grab those.

In terms of other mods, you'll want an intercooler upgrade of some variety to prevent heatsoak. The one from the Q5/A6/A7/Macan TDI is a direct bolt on upgrade for the 2.0T and is noticeable bigger than stock. I found one on Ebay for $75 shipped, not as effective as the big aftermarket units but for Stage 2 it's definitely adequate, that's what I currently run.

Be sure to read up on maintenance over in the A4 forum though, that's key with these cars!

    Hey 19Birel
Would intercooler from 2010 A6 3.0T count as an upgrade? Please let me know, thanks

Those supercharged A6 3.0Ts use an air-to-water intercooler/heat exchanger that is not compatible with the 2.0T.

For an OEM upgrade, you'll want an intercooler from a 3.0TDI as it uses a larger version of the air-to-air style intercooler the 2.0T does.

I may have my OEM intercooler if you are interested. I would need to check storage to be sure.

There is a large thread in the C7 forum about 2.0 A6s.

Can probably get some info from them as well. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...oon-C7-A6-2-0T
