    Input on wrap colour

    Hey all,

I have a C7 A6 and recently purchased H&R springs + B8. I’ve also changed my front end to RS replica. Now it’s time to wrap it from the quartz grey.

I wrap cars so I’ll be doing it myself. Curious as to the opinions of other C7/7.5 owners are. I’ve narrowed it down to Avery gloss light blue or 3M Satin dark grey.

Let me know your thoughts. I do own a wrap business so I’d like something that stands out but still tasteful. Torn between these two.

    Thanks!

I love the Satin Dark Gray. I am a sucker for 3M Satin Perfect Blue as well.

Edit: I was poking around on their site and I saw the gloss slate blue is a new color... winner.

I agree, haven’t seen those two blues but will have to check them out. I’m also a fan of 3M raspberry blue as well but it looks very OEM.

Haha! Satin dark grey was the run away winner over satin pearl white, then I saw this blue....

Thanks! I’m personally more subtle and like the grey; but for the business the blue will get more attention, and I like the colour too.

100%! These two would would be very similar. A mirror chrome would increase difficulty but not one of my choices for the a6.

I know you asked about those two specifically and my vote would be the blue also. But have you looked at the colors from Inozetek? They have nice OEM like gloss colors that come out awesome. I have seen some in person that you would swear were straight from the factory. It is a bit more expensive than most brands though.

Thanks for your input. Blue seems to be running away with it. I have looked at Inozetek and really like the turquoise dream. Yes a few hundred more expensive but definitely worth it with their paint like finish. I’ll have a closer look at that one vs the 3M gloss light blue.

All cleaned up. Can wait to get rid of this two toned look. I temporarily wrapped the front bumper when I first got it with some left over satin silver.

The blue looks amazing! What's an appropriate cost to wrap the entire car like that?

I've got a Daytona grey C7 and am looking to get rid of the chrome side window trims. Any advice on wrapping vs painting those parts?

Here's the car now. Already changing the front grill and all emblems to black.

Any advice on getting my S7 a more aggressive look is appreciated.

Avery gloss light blue all the way. Had my GTR wrapped in it. Loved it.

Yeah I’m pretty sure I’m sold on it. I would quote around 3k for to do someone else’s.

I wrapped my side window trims gloss black. I would definitely go that route. It’s relatively easy to DIY, just give it a very slight pull across the trim and it will go down nicely.

If you’re going for more aggressive you can’t go wrong with tinting the windows, blacking out your chrome trims and a satin black vinyl wrap. Tough to say, maybe a 25mm spacer in the rear and 15/20mm in the front.

Is it typical to space the rears more than the fronts? I measured the current gap and have 1" in the back and 3/4" in the front.

Looks like you went with a gloss dark gray? Good choice.

Personally I will never own a flat or satin car and not a fan of that lighter blue. Now Sepang or Scuba Blue would be nice.

Not a fan of black rims either but the bottom line is it has to be something you like, not us.

I'd go with the blue as well. I was looking at a full wrap last year and didn't commit, but I was looking at the Atlantis Blue

Since you own a wrap business, here's a question about someone buying a new Audi. Should they pay the extra price for a custom factory color, or get the no-extra-cost black and then apply a custom wrap? Please explain your choice. Thanks!

Yes people typically space the rears more so they are equally flush

No that’s my stock colour. Agree with you 100%. I’m likely going with the light blue then will decide on my powdercoat colour for the wheels once the wrap is on. I’m not a fan of the stock satin black with machined lip.

That’s an awesome colour as well, Discontinued however. I believe the closest one is now 3M gloss atomic teal.

I’d say get the colour that you really want. Wrap it as to keep things interesting if you need. Although some brands are coming close, there is no finish like factory paint.

Finished product! Went with the blue and very happy with the result. All that’s left is to wrap the roof. Will likely wrap it blue as I don’t have any other use for the leftover wrap; or I may do gloss black. It’s come a long way.
