will Unitronic tcu tune work with IE ECU tune?

couldnt find anything on this on forum and Unitronic was no help, all they said is they recommend pairing Unitronic ECU tune and TCU tune.

I was going to get IE S2 tune and then unitronic TCU tune, but unitronic said they dont guarantee it will work, im no expert so will there be any issues?

I wish I had the answer for this, but I’m in on this because this was a question I had as well. I reached out to a few tuners and they all said the same thing to me. I’m holding out to see what 034 brings to the table for both ECU and TCU tunes and try to pair those. Originally I was looking to go IE ecu with uni S2 TCU, but was advised with the same spiel that it may not work properly

Yeah i was thinking IE S2 ECU with UNI TCU bc IE's ecu tune puts out more power on torque.

Yeah im also kinda waiting for 034's tune but they are so behind, they said in 2019 that their tunes were going to be done in 2020 and its mid 2021 now and they still dont have a release date.

I asked Uni this question as I have a IE Stage1 93 tune and Uni said their TCU tune was designed to work with only their ECU tune. They wouldn't say anything else....I'm currently also waiting too see what 034 tunes look like.

they're just saying this so you buy their tune, it will absolutely work. A fellow member in the B9 community on Instagram by the name of b9_bomber https://www.instagram.com/b9_bomber/ he runs that exact setup IE stage 2 ECU and Unitronic TCU

I can confirm the blah, blah from Unitronic.

I reached out two days ago, and they told me the same thing. I have IE Stage II and wanted to get Unitronic TCU, but they told me they could not "guarantee" it would work lol

Did any of you get it already (IE ECU + Unitronic TCU)??

I didn't go with unitronic but I went with tvs, they told me it would work fine and if I get it done by a authorized dealer of theirs they will do customizations and corrective tuning, plus the authorized dealer gave me a cheaper quote then straight from tvs via their home flashing cable. They said if I flash myself they won't do customizations but from the shop they will. I personally think their TCU tunes are better anyways than uni

Yes. If you are willing to wait awhile. IE is developing a TCU tune but won't be done for at least 6 months

I bit the bullet and went with IE Stage II ECU with Uni TCU for the peace of mind since it makes the most sense. Why tune and max out the HP and Torque with the ECU and keep your transmission stock? You're basically putting more strain on the transmission on every pull, with every shift. My tuner says that they regularly have people mix up ECU/TCU since they are independent systems. Overall, I've had it on for about 5000km (3000 miles roughly) and it's been amazing. The gears hold longer, shifts faster and when it does shifts, I don't feel any of the jerkiness as when I was on IE Stage I with no TCU. It definitely is worth it to get and I'm always open for 034 or IE TCU if they come out with something better, but for the time being, mixing ECU/TCU is not a problem. Don't knock it unless you try it.

This is great! Appreciate the feedback pal. I'll get Unitronic TCU if available for my transmission. I'll reach out back at them. Thanks

Yeah! I'm going to pass on that one. IE has been developing "new" stuff for years for the B9 with each time making longer and longer hahaha Thanks for the feedback though
