    2018 A4 Premium Plus (6-Speed Manual)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Up for sale is my garage kept, 2018 Audi A4 Premium Plus. This vehicle was purchased new by me in November of 2017 and features a 6-speed manual transmission, Quattro AWD, and a 2.0L Turbo, which produces 252HP, as rated by the manufacturer. A full list of all included options/features is located in the pictures. The odometer currently clocks in at 30800--call it 31000.

This vehicle is one of 1236 6-speed manual models built for 2018, 171 of which are Brilliant Black. It is also the final production year of manual transmissions for the US market, so there is a high "collectibility" factor here. This specimen is 100% complete and comes with two key fobs, owners manual/brochure, factory wheel locks (with caps), and factory provided Lightning (Apple) and Mini USB (Android) charge cables.

This vehicle includes the Audi Sport Plus upgrade, which came with Sport suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, and an enhanced Audi Drive Select function, which allows the driver to select between Comfort and Sport driving modes. The Drive Select function also allows you to customise engine performance and suspension sensitivity. Honestly, I think the only thing I didn’t opt in for was the Virtual Cockpit, which wasn’t standard in the 2018 year. That and the Black Optic package (which I regret not getting to this day).

In March of 2021, the suspension was upgraded to H&R Street coilovers, which lowers the car an additional 1.25 inches on all four corners. Original factory suspension will be included in the sale.

Regularly intervaled maintenance has been performed on the vehicle, including all scheduled oil changes, fluid flushes, and examinations. In June 2021, the front-passenger motor mount was replaced with OEM parts. Paperwork for the repairs will be included with the sale.

This car will be sold AS IS, with pricing at $35,000 OBO. I'm located in Garden Grove, CA and I'd prefer a local sale; just makes everything easier.

    The Cons:
    1. Ceramic coating was applied on the car’s paint in December of 2019, but it’s due for a refresh.
    2. There is occasional control arm noise which has been examined regularly. It’s normal for lowered cars.
    3. Also related to the coil installation: there is occasional rubbing due to the upgrade, but only against the wheel-well liner. If you wanted to, you could just raise the car a bit or replace the tires with something with a little less sidewall.
    4. The two passenger side wheels have some curb rash (photos included).

Going to be honest, the lack of the virtual cockpit hurts the value, but I also think it is worth more than $27k though

Definitely worth more than 27k - probably around 30k-31k. Lack of VC does hurt and mileage is high-ish. Took me a year to find mine.

OP try carvana and vroom. Car values are out the ass right now and those two are overpaying to build inventory.
Vroom offered me 50k for my 2020 S4 before it got totaled.

    Thanks for the input, everyone.

For the hell of it, I hit up Vroom to see how much I'd be offered and I was pleasantly surprised--they gave me $32k.

Tempting to let it go, but I'd still rather sell to a forum member.

In light of it all, I'm dropping the price to $32k.

You know anyone can look up your car in your area on Vroom with your VIN and get a quote right? They did not offer you $32k, but good luck with selling all the same.

The only real difference here is that I left the coilovers out of the quote; it would only lower the value.

I forgot to screenshot, but I was shown a price of $33.6k when I ran the numbers for Garden Grove so *shrug*?

I've got a strong impression that your evaluation of the car (plus some omission of truth) has led to a remarkably high price. My real question is, how on earth can it vary that much? Unless you have some features not being listed, I get the impression they're gonna knock you for the coilovers, but even that wouldn't explain the price discrepancy.

Also, OP, that may be about as much as you get for your car, so I'd pull the trigger if you're not gonna hold out for an enthusiast!

Speaking from experience here, if you can get damn near the price you're going to get from a big used car dealership like CarMax or Vroom vs. selling through private party, I would take the offer and run to the mountain with it.

It is incredibly easy and absolutely insane how easy it was to sell my 2018 GMC Sierra this past May. Took less than 30 minutes and I had a check in hand for the same price I paid for new. No haggle, no bargaining - all it took was me answering several questions about my truck online and I got a code to visit my preferred CarMax dealer. Hell, Vroom and Carvana make it even easier... they'll show up to your driveway.

Vroom bought up one of the largest used car dealers here in Texas and my buddy was able to negotiate his pricing and scored an additional $3K in person. You might find yourself being able to do the same if you walk in and sell to a dealer, too.

    GLWS, OP.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll keep this ad up, but something just doesn't feel right about letting this thing go to a big box buyer, high price or not.

Truth be told, I've been looking into the B8.5 S4 market, hence my reason for letting this go. But with the car shortage causing inflated pricing on basically everything out there, even if I got a big wad of cash from it, it's moot since the replacement will be marked up as well.

And on another point, being the last of the Audi MTs stateside tells me I should keep it at least for a little while longer.

If a magical deal for a B8.5 S4 comes up and tickles my willy, I may pull the trigger, but until then...brake flush, oil change, ceramic makeover, and wheels/tires are up next for her.

Shift will give me $33,300 for my early 2019 right now, just PP no other options.

My last car was a 2017 BMW. I got quoted about $26k for it there as it was the best buy it now option. I was expecting, based on estimates last year, about $21-22k. I worked $29 locally, and got about $4k off BB on the A4. I had to work this at a dealer, my state doesn't allow a tax credit for a private party sale, so I saved over $3k in taxes above and beyond that.

Would I take $33,300 for it right now? Dunno, I'd lose the tax credit unless I bought something at that dealer but having that much cash in hand will buy a lot of tacos. I think I'll keep the car for a while, seems to be working like a champ so far. OH my point? $32k for 2018 is not unpossible.
