upgrading coils and spark plugs when tuning to stage 2

getting a full exhaust and intercooler soon and was going to tune to stage 2 right after those were installed. The question is should i upgrade coils and plugs at the same time i do the tune or before/after?

also, any recommendations on coils and plugs?

i was leaning towards apr coils and NGK R7437-9 Racing Spark Plugs.

Do the tune at the same time as the mods or you’ll be throwing codes and running like shit.

As for plugs and coils… stick to the factory stuff or go with an iridium tipped plug. That’s about it. There’s no magic in coil packs and honestly you’re likely just throwing money away if you go all out. The spark and current is regulated. And bigger coil pack won’t do anything but amplify the voltage (same current though) and that’s pretty meaningless in the end. The only time I’d modify the ignition is if it were on an older vehicle or if I were an F1 driver. These newer cars are fully controlled electrically. Don’t bother.

I believe he specifically meant the cat as that’s the most crucible piece required for a stage 2 tune. Everything else quite honestly doesn’t matter and it’s a recommendation. Although the car would perform loads better with everything.

If you throw on a high flow cat without the Stg 2 tune it will throw a CEL. Otherwise all of the other mods should be totally fine. I myself have an upgraded intercooler and no lights.
