    Question MY22 RS7 Build - Suggestions?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am working with my dealership to place an order. Here is the spec and I would appreciate your thoughts/suggestions. Some items are largely personal preference but some items involve functionality...

    • Color: Sebring Black Crystal Effect
    • Seats: Black w/ Express Red stitching—AR
    • Wheels: 22" 5-V-spoke trapezoid design cast aluminum wheels, gloss anthracite black, diamond cut, with 285/30 summer performance tires

    • Driver Assistance package
    • Carbon optic package
    • RS 7 Executive package
    • RS Design package, Red
    • Dynamic Ride Control suspension
    • Red brake calipers, steel
    • Sport exhaust
    • Bang & Olufsen® 3D Advanced sound system
    • Night vision assistant

The Carbon Brakes are tempting but very costly and not covered under warranty if that rock gets in there and destroys it.
The B&O Advanced also seems pricey for what you get? Anyone have this?
Night vision assistant appears to be an interesting gadget. Anyone familiar with this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Don

I have the night vision and B&A and i do have to say the night vison is kind of useless unless you're driving on a road with no light at all and you're worried about animals in the woods, or you just wanna show off that you have night vision lol, but I will say I am very happy with the B&A over the Bose, the Mids are so much crisper because of the tweeters, I've had both and will say the B&A is so much better, Again this is all my opinion I really think you need to experience it yourself, GOOD LUCK WITH THE CAR!

I liked the night vision because I frequently had to drive in to work at night and passed an area with lots of clubs that empty out at 2AM. I’d get the Dinamica headliner.

^^Don, looks like a great choice of options and a fabulous color for the 7. I deleted the NVA after doing more research. Thought it could help me avoid tickets, but it's too pricey. GL

I like your set up, but agree, had night vision in my ‘15 RS7, and other than a “show off to your friends”, I didn’t use it.
I opted for side assist instead of the full driver’s assist, mainly due to the fact I did not want more annoying electronics telling me what to do.
DRC…I had it on my ‘15, and was great for the twisties, but honestly I love the air ride/lowering ability of the standard air suspension, especially for long trips. My wife even stated “this drives so much better than your old RS7”…smoother.
I can vouch for the awesomeness of the B&O system…I completely love the system and worth the price of admission.

Thanks for the input. I submitted an order via my dealership and have received a comm # - no guarantees but I'm first in line with my dealer!
I'll be able to tweak the order if needed once pricing comes out - but I feel pretty good about it as is thanks to research and reading the great info from this group!
With any luck and some patience, I'll be another one bugging Roger to check on build status within a couple months.
Thanks again for the informative and often entertaining discussions!

I didn’t do night vision this time, didn’t use it very much at all.

Ordered B&O this time looking forward to that!

I do like the adaptive cruise features, makes for enjoyable long drives!

    Good luck,

    Cheers,

    Vin

My dealer tells me “We’ve earned an allocation to fill your order. I will give you a build week once it’s available.”
    So the waiting game begins…

you will get ZERO resale value out of the night visiion. Spend the money on the headliner. Personally speaking, Id pass on the B&O and get carbon ceramics. The lack of brake dust alone is worth the price of entry.

    Thanks for the input.
It's hard to argue that NVA is practical or a good value (however, there are a lot of deer on my roads - personal experience with hitting one - and I drive at night a good bit)
B&O Advanced is purely a personal preference...
CCB is the thing I still wrestle with. Major cost and not being covered under warranty are what push me away...
I know Carbon Ceramics have been discussed a ton but does anyone else have any pros/cons to bring up. It would give me (and others) something talk about while we 'patiently' wait for delivery

The pros are they drop unsparing weight by I believe 76 pounds, have rotors that will go 100k (normal non track driving), make less dust, & have much more thermal capacity before brake fade happens (really more a track issue). Cost is main con both up front & when the rotors do need replaced. Can also make some noise too. That steep replacement cost could potentially hurt resale too depending on how long you have the car as a future buyer likely won’t be hot on that big replacement cost as a % of what the car has depreciated in value to

Unstrung weight reduction is huge…quicker acceleration, quicker stopping, quicker change in direction. Plus they just look badass, so there’s that.

    PS Rock chalk!

lol meant unsprung but yea they definitely help with handling. I have an Infiniti red sport and switching to light 2 piece rotors, wheels, & tires definitely was noticeable at the track. Love the rock chalk
