    Tire size for 20X10 Tires!

Hi guys, I've heard that 255/30zr20 is the way to go for best fitment on the car.. Unfortunately I'm finding this a tough tire to locate (at a respectable price). Just curious if there is an alternative size that will fit well with this tire.

My vehicle is lowered on KW HAS system.

    Thanks in advance.

That is the recommended size for a 20" wheel, but a 10" width wheel will stretch the tire. The offset will be critical as to whether or not they will rub on a lowered car.

I had 255x30x20 on an 8.5 wheel, et 40mm offset on a 2015 S4 with H&R sport springs and they would rub.

There is a very limited selection of summer tires available, and even fewer all season tires. I ended up going back to 19" wheels near factory offset.

The challenge is that a 40mm offset adds 3mm to the outward position of the OEM 43mm et wheel and tire, plus half of the additional 38 mm (1.5") wheel width = 3mm +19mm wider = + 22mm outer edge of wheel. Doubt this will work, even with the stretched tire.

Several members on this board are currently running this set up with little issue.. But if you have an alternative size I'm all ears!!

I couldnt find a 255x30x 20" tire that I felt comfortable with that would clear the front or rear outer fenders on my H&R springs. If others have a specific tire brand/model and 10" x 40et wheel on their same yr S4 with the HAS then go for it.

On my 2015 S4 with 20" et40 BBS wheels and H&R springs, I still had rubbing front and rear, even with front fender inner lip flattening.

Ps, I won't run Chinese brand tires.

    20x10 et40 255/30 tires

    20x10 et33 255/30 tires, note I'm running 2.8 degrees of rear camber

this is what I'm talking about

    I run a 265/30/20 on a 10x20 et35, fits fine with less stretch,

ET40 would make exactly a 5mm difference. Your wheels will sit 5mm into the fenders further than his wheels.

So the tire he's suggesting might be a problem?

It could hit your strut or fender liner inside. You can solve that problem with a 5mm spacer if you ran into that issue

How low are you? I couldn't even imagine how bad a 265 would rub on my set up

I ran 20x10 ET 40 Niche wheels for two years with very minimal rubbing in the rear (KW V1 coilovers). I ran a 255/30/20 Hankook Ventus V12 which is one of the narrowest 255s you can get. This will stretch pretty good, the lip of the wheel will stick out past the tire. This setup would look ridiculous on factory suspension. Springs would work, but a HAS kit or full coilover setup would be ideal to dial it in how you want.

With that said, I just switched to a 19x9.5 ET 40 wheel with a 265/35/19 tire with absolutely zero stretch. My area is not the greatest for the 30 series life.

Ha yep it is.. You have no issue with your tires and fitment? I'm worried that the 255s are going to be too stretched. the 265s sound like a good idea, but again I'm worried about running against my struts.

On the et40 wheels, had little to no fitment issues, would only rub when fully loaded on big bumps. On my current et33 setup, I rub on pretty much everything. I personally don't think the 255 on a 10'' wheel is too streched, this should give you an idea of how much of a strech it'll be.

For the narrowest 255 tire - that doesn't look overly stretched. You've won me over. Ordering a set of 255/30zr20's today.
