Thinking about getting an intake silcone hose for Stage 1.
But will not add an upgraded filter like a K&N, setup will just be: stock air box, stock filter and silcone hose... is it worth it?

Worth it how? Not sure what you're looking for here. More performance, more sound?

Not sound, but performance. If I do not add an upgrade filter like K&N. Is buying the silcone intake hose worth it?

I think stage 1 is fine on stock pipe for performance. When stage 2 you have chance of collapsing the stock intake tube.

But changing to the silicone will add a little bit of supercharger whine and willhave you ready for stage 2 later.

Funny never heard of that, i doubt you'll collapse a stock intake.

I was told by a few people it could. If you look at that bulgey part, it looks like it has some kind of white insert, presumably to muffle the sound. If you squeeze it, it is pretty squishy. I just duplicated this set up.

I didn't like having a hot air intake, so I just grabbed another 45 degree and ran the filter a little above and behind where the fog light would be, popped that little panel out to get air flow, and heat wrapped the pipe. I had my intake done for under $100ish including heat wrap.

That being said, I switched back and forth between stock, and this set up. Butt dyno felt no difference. My stocker obviously wasn't collapsing. I had a recently cleaned stock replacement K&N though. I guess if your filter were clogged enough, it could create enough of a pressure differential, and therefore a vacuum, and collapse.

If you plan on going stage 2, you will need to open up the stock intake.
I modified my stock air box with an additional hole, added afe dry filter and a JHM intake silicone hose for that setup.

If you plan on sticking with stage 1 only, the stock setup is fine.
