    Installed the Ghost lowering links

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

I went with a modest drop, maybe 15mm. I adjusted the links to be 3mm different from stock links, which are made from a hard rubber material so they are somewhat flexible, making them easy to be removed.

Looks good! How long did it take to install? How easy are they to adjust?

About an hour working with 2 rennstand jack stands. The Ghost links come with 5 mm pre-adjusted (5mm shorter for the front and 5mm longer for the rear), and turning one of the heads 350 degrees equals 1mm. Super easy!

    Looks good!

Did lowering affect your tire alignment or anything? I wouldn’t think so with it being such a minor amount.

I installed my ghost links and lowered it similar to the OP car. I then took it in for an alignment and was told it didn't require one.

    YMMV

The included instruction state not to jack the car (use a pit) to install the links. Anyone have issues doing it as shown above?

I just installed mine… put the car in tire change mode and installed links as delivered after measuring. I did one corner at a time ( I don’t follow instructions well) and the car is now 3/4” lower. No issues or problems.

Have you had your car in the snow with the links? I installed some on my C8 Allroad a few months ago. We had our first snow of the year, and my car was a death trap in the snow. The rear end was all over the place, and I couldn’t safely drive over 35mph. I removed the links, and put the stock ones back on. Same result. So I doubt it’s the links. But this car in snow undrivable . Coming from 20 yrs or of owning a wrx, 2 STi’s, and a focus RS.

Haven't driven in snow yet, but what kind of tires are you on?

The oem all seasons with 9k miles. It’s not a tire issue. I bought an STi in January once, and before I could get it in for snow tire/wheels we got a couple inches of snow. I felt way safer in that. I do have an appointment to bring it into the dealer next week. But I’m trying to see if anyone has experienced something similar.

This isnt from me but I found someone else on the boards with a recall about a rear end wiggle...I saved the texted but not the post...

Had a recall completed while in service recently: 42L1, Audi is recalling several new models for a lock nut issue on the rear suspension. Since the recall I haven't experienced the wiggle. Might be sheer coincidence however it seems to have worked for me.

Ok. This sounds exactly what I experience on dry pavement when I hit a bump. I wrote it off, because this is the biggest car i have ever owned. I’m just so used to driving sport compacts, that I didn’t know what to expect with this boat. I can hit a man hole cover that is slightly sunken, and I can feel the rear get squirrelly when the rear wheels hit it. I’ll bring this up when I drop it off at the dealer. Thank you.
