I did the recommended coding (Module 19, Start Stop Voltage Limit set to 12) to disable Stop/Start. That disabled it except for when I shift into Park. Should Stop/Start be completely eliminated by this coding? The other method that I've read about is to modify Module 19 - Start/Stopp Auntemperaturvorgabe-Minimaltemperatur, but that parameter doesn't appear in the list under Module 19. Any suggestions?

Also, I've read that in order to display the gear number while in Drive, you can modify Single Gear Display under 02-Auto Trans to a value of "D on/S on". On my car there are only 3 channels under 02-Auto Trans. Production Mode, Deactivate Production Mode, and Dynamometer Mode. No Single Gear Display. Is there another way to do this?

regarding the start&stop, once the voltage is set to 12v, it should be permanently disabled (as it is on mine), maybe something has changed on '21 YM?
about the gear display I have no feedback; however is quite surprising that on a '21 YM it is not set from factory (by the way, it was on my 2018)

Thanks Kevin. I found a likely sounding setting under 01-Engine - "Activation of start stop function". Default is Active, alternate is Not active. So I changed "Start Stop Voltage Limit" back to 7.6 and switched "Activation of start stop function" to Not Active. It didn't work.

I believe the only proved coding to eliminate start&stop is the one I mentioned above (or at least, it works for me).
At the time, I founded another coding in 05 labelled IDE4159-Deactivation of start-stop function set by default to "not active", I then tried to change to "active", but no success, start&stop was still active

I saw that channel in 05 or somewhere else and hadn't tried it yet. As I was driving today I noticed that the Start/Stop Voltage Limit set to 12v actually does nothing on my 2021 TTS. Start/Stop is active unless I am driving in S mode or turn it off manually, and then it still shuts the engine off when I put it in Park. That creates a situation where sometimes I don't remember to turn off the ignition until reminded by the chimes when I open the door. There must be a channel that I can code to disable it entirely. I'll keep looking.

dumb question: are you 100% sure the 12V value has been saved?
if so, try another value, i.e. 11.6

I am sure it was saved. I set it back to 4.6v and tried all the channels that had to do with stop/start that I could find in any of the VCDS modules. Nothing worked. It seems there must be some firmware setting in the TCU that overrides anything that can be coded. Might be the same issue for displaying the gear number in Drive.

original coding value should be 7.6, not 4,6, anyway I don't think the matter can be related to TCU module… it should be the 19

Yes. 7.6 is the value that I changed it back to.

Going back to "Disable Stop/Start".... I find this in 19 Can Gateway-->Adaptation-->Deactivation of S/S function. The stored value is "regular operation". Available choices are: "stop release", "start request", "stop prohibition: no start request", or "start request". Which, if any, would disable the start/stop function?

Several of the other tweaks like "Disable the LED wink on turn signal" or "Disable after-wipe" or "Set exhaust valve open" require that I use the Long Coding Helper. When I follow the directions, the values that I see are all different than those posted on this and other sites. Were you able to change those? I'm a novice at using the tool so I'll work on those and see if I'm not using it correctly, but it doesn't look promising. The VCDS coding directions all date back to 4 or 5 years ago, and it appears that Audi made some changes to the more recent model year's coding.

    Thanks for the help.

that audi made some changes on some modules, is surely possible.
for the start&stop, unfortunately I don't know any alternative coding other than the one I told you

Out of curiosity, did youhave the hood opened at the time of attempting these coding changes?
