I had a A4 B7 with red DIS cluster. weeks ago i found a A4 B6 cluster with color DIS in a junkyard.
1、could i just swap the color LCD part?is it work?
2、i knew A4B6 is RB4 cluster and b7 is RB8,can i swap them by reprograming of some tools like vvdi?or may be just impossible?
    tks for your great information!

The parts are physically incompatible. Swapping screens is not possible. There is a company that can reprogram the new dash to work. Let me look it up.

Pretty sure the issue between B6 & B7 clusters is the immobiliser difference these models which means ECU is also involved. Link aaronfield33 posted is the best bet if you want to switch clusters. Red B7 can be replaced with colour B7 cluster - that's what my dealer had to do for me when I bought my car new but there's a story behind why I made them do that.

You can switch to a B7 color cluster with reprogramming by speedosolutions, but a B6 cluster will not work.
