OBDeleven Scan - Shed some light?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just got a hold of an OBDeleven and did my first scan on the car, here is what came up. Looks like there's something funky going on with one of the Audio speakers etc.
    The engine module codes that came up are a bit concerning;
    Catalyst System, Bank2
Oil pressure regulation valve - electrical error
PCV Regulator Valve- Performance - Had a new PCV installed at 45K car now has about 65k

I'd love to get some feedback on what if anything I should do with these codes and anything else you can interpret from the overall scan; I just copy and pasted the errors and left out anything that said no trouble codes found.

Clear those codes and see if tbey return, especially those engine related. Drive about 100 miles and rescan. I'm more concerned about the engine codes.

It's weird but I didn't have an actual check engine light when I did my initial scan and those codes came up. Went to take the kids to school today and BAM and actual check engine light appears on the dash. Going to rescan - I'll post up the results.

Be sure to clear the codes before rescanning, or the same ones will pop up again. Each code is dated for the exact moment the fault was detected, the time, temperature, mileage, engine rpm, vehicle speed and other related data.

Scan with the engine running at idle.

What year is your car? The PCV was updated mid 2015 I think, if you had an older version and they put a new one in, it will need coding to work right and would give that code.

The radio ones seems like something not working correctly ormconnected right, but I'd clear those and see what comes back for sure, if everything is working right then it's probably just a random event, maybe old battery? Car gets picky with low voltage.

Cat efficiency could be o2 sensor, can always take it out and clean it if you clear them and it won't go away.

Oil regulation would be concerning, but again clear it and see what comes back. I'm not sure if oil pressure is a monitored parameter or if it is simply a low pressure switch.

I totally forgot to clear the codes BUT even more weird stuff is happening. Went to get new tires put on and on the way back I get the EPC light along with strong stuttering and hesitation.

As soon as I got home I fired up the OBDeleven and ran a scan. I did however forget to clear the prior codes - I have an appointment with my mechanic for Monday to get everything looked at so I do not want to clear the codes as I want them present when I take the car in.

How old are your plugs? Intercooler might be leaking. Looks like a random misfire and then it disabled probably cylinder 2 and or 5, and from the stamps it looks like it happened at the same time. Probably felt like trash afterwards, for the future if you pull over and start/stop the car, it will enable all the cylinders again so you can drive more normally.

What were the conditions that the misfire occurred? WOT? Cruise? Looks to be around 50% load so half throttle?

This could also be a fueling issue since you had multiple cylinders having an issue at the same time.

    Need logs.

Plugs were changed at 58k. Water pump was recently replaced (60k).

    Happened at a mild cruise.

Can I use OBDeleven to log? How would I do that?

Alrighty, buckle up, this might be a long post but hopefully you can stick through it with me and provide some insight.

My 2017 Audi SQ5 has been at the dealership for close to a month at this point. When I dropped it off it had thrown the codes listed in the body of this thread but bottom line the dealership ended up replacing the catalytic converter alond with the PCV and "breather tube" 06e103207ap.

Went to pick up the car on Friday afternoon after being told everything was buttoned up and we were good to go. Hop into the car that they have parked outside running for me AND Check Engine Light"-- WTH?

Go back inside to tell my Service rep and he has the car brought back into the shop to see what's up. He comes out 10 min later and tells me that the car is throwing a code that has to do with intake flaps being stuck open. He doesn't give me the specific code but I searched online and this seems to be a common error that can occur when changing the PCV due to the fact that the intake runners are removed and then when re-installing if not paying attention these flaps can be secured in the "stuck closed" positon.

My rep tells me that the need to have the car cool down and they'll fix it and have it ready for me Saturday afternoon. Fast forward to Saturday and now I am getting some different information than what was told to me the night before.

Now they are telling me that the ECU code is P0345 - Cam Shaft Position Sensor. Tells me that the Mechanic spent all night Friday and all morning Saturday trying to hunt this issue down and correct it. Swapped the Sensor out, traced all the wiring etc. they can't seem to pin it to the sensor and are now saying that the need to "tear the engine down" in order to determine if there is a true timing issue - Timing Chain, Guides etc...

Is there something that might have happened during either the catalytic converter install or during the PCV replacement that could have caused the P0345 code to be thrown?

Again, the logs I have attached in this thread we're all the codes the car was throwing when I first brought it into Audi but P0345 was not one of them.

    Any insight?

Got the car back from Audi yesterday. The issue with the Cam Position Sensor ended being just needing a new sensor/fix some wiring. Car is back and good as ever....

Thank goodness they figured that out. Seems like amateur hour at the dealership if they didn't check their own work, although I guess it could take the car running a bit to get the CEL or codes to reappear... But c'mon Audi.

My local dealership absolutely sucks. I used them for some maintenance work and warranty work and there were always delays or other issues. My last time there the service manager started harassing me about modding and vowed to never honor any warranty work. I was not even there for any warranty work but for a recall!

Yeah, I have a good tuning shop I usually use but since it was the catalytic converter that got this whole party started, that had to go back to Audi since is warranties for 8yr/80k.

The PCV had been done their previously (under factory warranty) and I figured get everything done at once…
