Does anyone know if you have to raise the motor to install test pipes on the a6 c7 like you do on the dsg s4's?

On my 2012 A7 I had to sag the back end of the trans to get the old converter in and out. If you take the cowl bulkhead plate out it will help with access to the top studs. I only worked on the passenger side, I remember reading that you will have the steering wheel linkage in the way on the driver side.

You will need about 4 feet of extensions to reach the nuts from below. for the top nuts 1/4 inch sockets worked better for me since I needed to reach in 18 - 24 inches and the 1/4 inch tools were lighter than the 3/8 inch tools. You might wind up needing to replace the exhaust studs in the repairs as well. You can get an stud extractor from Autozone for about $20.

If you run into problems in the repairs feel free to PM.
