Aftermarket water pumps - experiences ?

I decided as a pre-emptive strike to replace my water pump whilst I still have two daily drivers as oil has evidently been dribbling down from top TC housing.
Looking at genuine prices over here that's not an option at nearly $A1000 and me buying from the US,freight is a killer ( except Rockauto ).I know,I know use genuine parts but even the one review on ECS genuine pump says it failed after 2 years and FCP doesn't even carry gen.
So what have you found with non-genuine pumps, which brand has failed miserably early ? It's a mine field out there with the likes of Rockauto,FCP and others carrying many brands.....

    As complete pumps:
FCP have only REIN and GRAF

    Rockauto have Rein,Gates,Dayco,Beck/Arnley,GMB,SKP

Rein seems omnipresent and available in plastic and metal.I wonder who makes the genuine pump - one of these ?

Also wondering the purpose of the electric circulation pump which was in my case replaced with TSB earlier on in life.Does it circulate coolant after shutdown ?

Answering my own question-Pierburg is the OE supplier for our pumps.I've tracked down a few suppliers over here.

A wealth of info here re model fitment-register first, select model-go down the road... lol then click various highlights : https://onlineshop.ms-motorservice.c...guest&app=shop

And this explains why so many pumps leak and fail from oil contamination:https://onlineshop.ms-motorservice.c..._e_1634852.pdf (Top of page 2 particularly )

I got a cheapy but I cannot remember where from - I think ebay. I think it was under $100 and I installed it back in 2014 at around 80k miles. At about 157k now.

You've done well with that-it seems the luck of the draw in many cases

I just did mine about a month ago. USP sells an aluminum pump kit for like $300, which includes hardware etc, and its covered by a lifetime warranty. Its a little too soon for me to give a good review on quality but it stopped my leak lol. I should also mention that the water temperature sensor they included was faulty, so I just reused the old one and it worked fine.
