Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I see kits from 200 to 600 for the complete 10 pc kit. Can anyone recommend one they have purchases? I see one at 1aauto for $224

    Any input appreciated

If ya wanna do it once, and plan on keeping the car, buy a good set. Cheap ones usually don't last. TRW, lemforder, Meyle HD, 034 are all good brands.

I went with the Meyle HD kit based on a review here but haven’t installed them yet. I purchased from FCP Euro as it was a great price and the lifetime replacement warranty from them (not that I expect to need that but it’s nice to have).

I agree with Gowking. any brand sold by FCPeuro means they trust it enough to back it with their lifetime warranty.

if I'm not buying genuine Audi parts, I'm looking at what FCP sells and not stepping outside those brands for something serious like suspension

Just finished a complete Meyle HD kit on my B7 A4. I was impressed with the quality.

The difference is night and day compared to the worn OEM suspension at 79k miles. All control arm joints were worn. One joint was approaching destructive failure. All four upper arms had torn bushings.

I did control arms, tie rod, shocks, springs, front and rear strut mounts and it literally drove like a brand new car.

I just installed a lemforder kit from fcp on my car and don’t expect to ever have to replace them. I have also used the cheap delphi arms with good results on other b7s. I ran the cheap ones for probably 3 years and 40k+ miles.

I don't plan on beating it up. Its just a weekend car do you think the Delphi kit would suffice?

You don't "need" adjustable arms. But if you wanna correct the negative camber, ya need em. I used the cheap ones from eBay, carparts.com, etc. $120 for the set. Same style as the SPC, work fine. No way I was spending $500, lol. And if they go bad in a few years, $120 for all new ones. I added superpro bushings, but was a PITA. Bushings are about 3mm smaller on adjustable arms than stock.0418191210.jpg0802201531_HDR.jpg

Do you happen to have links for the bushings. How did you press them in?

I used powerflex pro black bushings for my upper arms. Nice and firm. Superpro uses too low of a durometer for suspension i think. 60A isnt cutting it. Id want at least 75A personally.

Im using superpro in my lower arm for the shock bushing and its getting squished just sitting static on the ground.

Theyve been installed for almost a year, and still look new... Maybe different in bottom? I like the superpro cuz theyre sleeved. Not a fan of straight poly ones, sleeved seem to be a little more sturdy. Where'd you find the stiffness info?

They weren't easy on the adjustable arms, cuz of difference in stock size bushings. But for reg arms, they'd be fine.. Just google them, they'll pop up. And I used a small shop press.

Well, its an option. If your bushings are bad, but ball joints are good, you can just change the bushings. Or if ya wanna upgrade them. Depends what ya want. I upgraded the bushings in all my front arms(and end links), to poly. I know, they're mis-matched brands, lol.1114201728.jpg0802201531_HDR.jpg0726201430.jpg

Oh, the lower shock mount bushing.. Yeah, that don't look great, lol. I went with factory rubber replacement for that one. Only one I kept rubber, and mine is a little squished already. But my UCA's are fine. That bushing prob has the most pressure on it to. Thats Just strange..you have a pic before installing on the car?
