Does anyone have and use the Audi connect plus ?

After a quick read it’s saying that it gives you access to WiFi which would come in handy while traveling between NJ and NC. Just want to see if anyone added it and their thoughts please. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

I am using it now (during the 6 month free trial). I do find it quicker than the wifi that was part of the trial period for my 2019 A4 Allroad and 2019 SQ5 (both with MMI 2). Right now I plan on keeping it (and paying for it) once the trial period ends. Can't really put any tangibles to it, but the entire suite (traffic info, google maps, google search in the nav, etc) are more polished than on previous iterations.

I have it on free trial ATM. It works fine. Speeds where I was at were typical LTE. I have 0 use for it though so turned it off after tinkering with it.

My trial for PRIME and Connect PLUS expired during the pandemic, and I was more than fine without it. Now with driving more, and possibly more road trips, having the "Hotspot" for kids in the back triggered me adding 6 months of Audi Connect.

NOTE, that in order to get your Monthly Hotspot working (i.e. $15/mo for 1 GB), you REQUIRE an active Audi Connect PRIME too (which is the stuff like Google Maps, News, etc). So... beware that you need to dish out $200 (6 months) for PRIME + $15/month for the Tethering feature.

I tried to ONLY get the $15/mo Audi Connect Plus only (the tethering), but it doesn't work until I ALSO subscribe for PRIME. Effectively $48/month.... What a rip. If I was a logical person I would be satisified with just using my Apple CarPlay for navigation/traffic/Hotspot from my own carrier/devices!

So personally, I'm going to try this out for May-Nov and disable it every 6 months since I think I won't need the convenience of Audi Connect for non-summer times.

As far as Internet performance... It's AT&T where I am... Which is not the best.

Is there a way to check the data usage on the MMI? I know on my 2018 I can see the data usage, but on my 2021 S6 I don't see a screen where it shows my data usage

I see my data usage on my wireless phone bill. Because it’s basically just another cell phone, and I can access individual data usage for the vehicle by phone number for each unit; iPhone or vehicle on my family plan (AT&T).

I have had it as well a few months, and honestly can live without it. Nice features, but I tend to use Apple CarPlay and a lot cheaper.

OK. I am on a trial plan now, and was just wondering. I don't have ATT as my cell service. I thought the newer cars were now on Verizon? I was told my 2021 S6 was on Verizon and not ATT

I have it and use it often, it's nice to have and not use my cell phone data. Plus I have multiple carriers, cell is verizon, car is att, wife's cell is tmobile. If you drive a lot and use gmaps/stream audio often I think it's worth it.

Wow, that's expensive.
I pay $200 a year for wifi in my Navigator. Which is very useful as it comes with a Roku for the rear entertainment. Unless MMI has Waze capabilities built in you are going to be using AAuto/Carplay anyway so save the money. I'd get a connected iPad if the money is burning a hole in your pocket. Way more useful.

This can be useful... You just have to be careful if the car's plan isn't unlimited. My phone connects automatically (you can override that) and I have wifi calling activated so it will always use the car's data.

Yeah I just switched to the unlimited 1 year plan for 200$ which I think is new but maybe not, I don't recall that being an option before. And for sure it's ATT.

Some of the towns nearby do have the new traffic lights so the traffic sign recognition is a cute feature.

Bottom line at least for me.....I have it and am 2 months into the free 6 mo. plan. When it ends I’ll not renew @ $600 per year cost. I have iPhone with unlimited data and will use CarPlay and save the $600. As for passenger WiFi, a iPhone/iPad combo will suffice just fine. That said, I do use the free service now and it’s very intuitive.

Call your dealer. They have a code for your use in setting up Audi Connect +

Maps, traffic, news, weather, valet: Verizon

Hotspot: AT&T

And you don’t require an account on those networks to get AudiConnect.
