Hey all, looking to change the rear bumper exhaust area of my car and was wondering if anyone knows if the 21 sq5 rear bumper diffuser piece will work on a 18?

This question has been asked by many people and no one truly has the answer because no one has tried it yet. Alex at europrice said likely it won’t just bolt up and fit without work but it hasn’t been confirmed

Have you done this? How do you know for sure the b9.5 lower fits on the b9?

Any update if the lower part of the B9.5 rear actually fits a B9?

Nothing had changed. It won't fit.

For those wondering if it fits, it does clip right in. Will need to change out the fender arch flares and side skirts though

Nice job Mythos. Way to think outside of the box.

Kudos for confirming this. Too bad about the wheel arches and skirts. I didn't anticipate that.

Since you are going to throw them out anyway, any way to use a heat gun and undo the folds on the bottom of the wheel arches and reform them. If you can do that without damaging the paint, you'll save $$$ by not having to buy and painting new pieces. It's worth a try.

I would pay good money to a company that made some arch flares that were B9 compatible in the front and B9.5 compatible in the back. I loathe the fake exhaust on the B9 but all the aftermarket bumpers have downsides (downsides apart from being aftermarket in the first place).

    The B9.0 Q5 use one of three different rear wheel arch covers, we'll say revision none (2K1), revision A (2K5, 2K6, VJ1, VJ5, VJ8), and revision B (2K3, 2K9, 2K7, 2K8).
The B9.5 Q5 uses the same rear wheel arch cover for all PR codes, revision A, except for PR VJ5 (offroad style package), which uses some accessory part number.
No idea what Audi uses those codes for on Q5, but if it's like the other B segment, 2K1 is standard, 2K3/2K9 is S, 2K7/2K8 is s-line, the rest are something.

So if you already have the B9.0 rev A, you should already be set.
As I presume Mythos is an SQ5, I presume he has the sporty flare rev B.

Yea, totally amazing with that mis-matched fender wheel well trim.

It also seems like if you were to replace the fender trim with the B9.5 version, you'd have to replace the side skirts. And if you replace the side skirts you probably have just created the original problem on the front fender trim. And if you replace the front fender trim, now you probably have to replace the front bumper too. I think the only sane way for this to work is if somebody makes a rear fender trim that is B9 where it mates up to the side skirts and B9.5 where it mates up to the bumper. I sure would love to have some hot exhaust tips though.

I would just shave the arch trim and repaint it yourself, and avoid having to do skirts and likely the front bumper too.

Since you have to repaint it, you're better off just getting some beat up ones on ebay to use and saving your clean ones. They're going for less than $100. I was about to buy a front pair to modify since I'm doing something similar, but the reverse lol
