Good afternoon, does anyone know better oil than Castrol Edge Sae-5w-40? If any recommendations for better oil if there is any let me know! Thanks for your time.

Been using Castrol on my S6 for a few years now.

Almost everyone has their own favorite. There are many long drawn out threads about oil if you do a search.
There is not necessarily anything wrong with the Castrol, it meets the VW502 spec.
Plenty of people like LiquiMoly while still others swear by Mobil1. I personally use Motul but have no proof it is in any way particularly better than any of the others. I also would use Amsoil even though the do not get Audi VW502 certification I know from previous experiences that they would exceed any specs and choose not be certified/verified or whatever by VAG.
Availability may be a more decisive factor for the individual. How much are you willing to go through to get a specific oil. While Mobil1 is readily available and easy to obtain and relatively inexpensive at Walmart, Motul is not.

From what I've read, gk1 is on the mark. The consensus is that making sure the oil is changed is vastly more important than which brand of oil is used (assuming it meets VW 502). My sense is that if one is changing oil every 5K and not racing the car all the time, the brand is a very minor factor.

I started using liquimoly because that’s what I can drive to the corner and get. Now that oil filters are almost $35 from the dealer I’ll probably just start ordering my kits from ECS but have found nothing wrong with LM and feel like my car went through less oil than others have reported.

I've been using Mobil One 0W-40 as I live in a colder climate.
