    Stock Radio & Bluetooth

    Hi all,

I searched and found that there are a few answers to this question, but wanted to ask for more recent updates to see if anything has changed. I currently have a hardwired solution where I have an iPod 30pin cable that comes through the cupholder that's under the armrest. This has been great for years and years, but taking it out every so often to go update it is getting lame. Haha.. I'd like to change over to Bluetooth so I can just remove the iPod and use my phone. I don't personally care about handsfree calling, so what would you recommend? Crutchfield sells something, but it says it doesn't fit our radio in the back.

    Thanks!

I have a Bovee Bluetooth adapter plugged into my dice iPod adapter. Works perfectly.

If you already have a 30 pin connector, the cheapest route will be to just buy a 30 pin to BT adapter. I ran one in my A4 for years and it worked great. I believe that the next track/previous track input from the stock headunit still worked, but that might depend on what adapter you get and whether that functionality already works with your current iPod setup.

If you're looking to get rid of the 30 pin and just go to bluetooth, I have been very happy with the Dension unit. https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/prod...nsion-gbl3au2/

Oh, sweet! That little bluetooth thing plugging into the 30pin will for sure be the easiest. Thanks gents!

OK- I'm a genuine dumb-ass when it comes to car stereos.
I've the BOSE Symphony system with the CD player in the trunk----Where does one plug this into the" the back of the radio"
I've seen other solutions but the OE stereo looses the CD player function. Will the OE trunk mounted CD player still function with the addition of this item???
There were no installation instructions at the Enfig site
    No laughing now......

These units basically hijack the 6 disc changer input on the back of the head unit. The in dash single CD player works, but the changer is effectively unplugged and will not work any longer.

Crux BTS-VW1 in our B5 S4, B6 A4, and B7 A4 working flawlessly for over 2 years with multiple phones paired in each car. Takes up the CD changer spot on the back of the radio and readily available in online retailers.

I’ve had this for a few years and really like it. Sound quality is surprisingly pretty good and it’s nice to be able to take calls hands free.

Good to see there are a few options! I ended up with the Bovee1000 adapter since I already had a hardwired iPod cable going to the back of the radio, so this was as easy as it gets. Having Bluetooth in the car just decreased it's age from 21 to like 11... Impressed

I ended up getting this little thing and I feel like it's been the best mod I've done to my S4 in a long time.. Haha.. Do you leave it plugged in all the time, or unplug it when you leave? I noticed the little blue light will stay on when car is off and key is out. Not sure if it's got a timeout that it'll eventually stop lighting up using battery, or what. I was going to test it out one day, but figured I'd ask if you may have already done that.

Forgive the noob question, but I have a dice ipod connector in my cup holder and the PO never told me how to use it or even switch it on... anyone have a quick how to? I can't find a damn article or anything besides old installation DIYs. I love the thought of the plug in Bluetooth receiver, but would love to know how to actually use the darn thing.

I think for most of them, you have to select CD changer and then you can fast forward or reverse through each track.

Ohhh that is what the cdc button is for. I've only ever done cassette or single cd. Cool! I'll buy that 30pin receiver and give her a try.

I have installed in one of my Avants the Denison GBL3AU2 and it works extremely well.. Got it from Enfig as well.. Took 15 minutes to install and maintains the OEM, yes outdated, but best looking option in my opinion.
