    2017 A3 Quattro on Stock 18's

I went out to my car today and found I have a flat. I'm thinking about going to the Firehawk Indy 500's for the summer. I also plan on updating the wheels in the future and plan to stay 18" but would like to go wider. 8.5-9.5? However, I recently spent a bunch going stage 2 and don't see that in the near future. What are my options for width on the stock 8" wide rims? Can I upsize to 235 or 245 without issues?

    Thanks

I just went to 18 x 8.5 ET45 with 235-35/18 which is 0.3" taller and has a negligible effect on speedometer readout and gearing. I went with Michelin PS4S but the Firehawk Indy 500 is a fine tire.

I am running 245/40/18 on Newspeed RSe10 wheels. Had to significantly improve tire sidewall height due to our poor road maintenance and having two original 235/35/19 fail due to side wall damage from pot holes. Thus my move to our present configuration. No issuses at all now at 17k+ miles, on these same roads! The 0.7 inch increase in tire sidewall height makes a big difference, when bad pot holes are involved!

Unfortunately, my other tires are getting to the point of needing to be replaced as well and having 1 new tire likely wouldn't be good for the quattro from my understanding. Positive, is the wife has approved me getting tires and wheels so now I'm looking at upsizing to something a bit bigger!

After a bunch of research I've come down to a few options.

    JNC042 Matte Black/Bronze
    18x9.5 et35
    255/35r18 XL

Rotiform CVT Matte Anthracite Gray (also looking at the Rotiform Buc in 18x9.5 et35)
    18x8.5 et35/et45
    245/40r18 (optional 255/35r18 if they'll fit)

I'm stock height for now on s-line (S3) springs. Not sure how soon I'll be lowering as I'm also looking into air in the future, but might go with some springs temporarily but not sure. The JNC w/255's would be cheaper and wider with a bit of stretch and I really like the matte black/bronze look. However the Rotiforms really stand out and are unique, but are only 8.5" wide. My local shop has a great deal on the Firehawk 255/35r18 right now which would save about $140 over the 245/40r18's but not sure if that's too much tire for the 8.5" wheel.

Any recommendations based on these options? I've never ordered wheels, and after reading the aggressive wheels thread, I believe both of these wheel sizes will work.

    Thanks!

Alright, I think I'm ready to hit buy.

    Stock sport suspension

    Rotiform Buc-M
    19x8.5 et35

    Firehawk Indy 500
    255/35r19

Anyone see issues with this setup?

Should be fine. I ran that same width/offset/indy Tires in 18" and ran them on my MK5 GLI, Beetle turbo and my S3 before changing to my current setup.
