    TTE 700 or TTE 777?

    Hello everyone,

If I wanted to go stage 3, would it be better to go TTE 700 or TTE 777? The 700 seems to be so much more proven with data to back it up and seems to have much more tuning file support but then again the 777 is much newer. I just recently purchased my RS and have been doing my best to educate myself on what options are available right now. I think my goal is to be low 5s in the 60-130mph. My engine will also be built next month with rods/pistons. Any insight will be really appreciated. Thank you!

The TTE777 is a bigger turbo than the TTE700 so it is likely reach full boost at a later rpm point than the TTE700. The TTE777 of course has more potential to make more power with the sacrifice of when the turbo will start spooling. If this is primarily a street car, i honestly would stick with the TTE700 given the two options.

Low 5's I think only a 777 will get you there, and is what I am changing to, spool is slightly slower, ever so slightly due to the fact that the manifold is also ported in the 777. I have seen dyno overlays from same dyno and car on 700 and then 777 and spool is nearly identical. I am and personally would recommend going 777.

You could spring the extra buck and get the IMS780HS for ball bearing.

However, for this post's sake... TTE777

However haven't seen a 780HS go nearly as fast as the 777 or make as much power unfortunately on any tuning. Trust me this or the 850HS was my hope coming from my current 710H but seems they aren't making the power others are. 710H is close to 700 though.

I see. Would anyone happen to know how the spooling is for the 777 compared to the 780hs?

No honestly I don't I know people with both setups but don't recall the 780hs dyno.

According to the dyno of the 777 (someone else so not gonna share the image) showing 300wtq at 3,000 rpm, 450ish wtq at 3,500 rpm, and near 600 and over at 4k all the way to around 6500 tapering off some from there... WHP peaks at 740-750whp area with a 7800 redline.

Vancity Audi shows a lot on his youtube in regards to 777 as well on uni tuning.
