New Audi owner. 2020 RS3. What do you guys recommend for an oil change? Any special tools I should buy? What oil and filter? I'm very particular so I'd like to run the best oil possible for it.

    Thanks in advance!

Drain line for the oil filter, oil filter housing wrench, new oil drain plug and washer. I bought the last 3 from rockauto and the first from amazon. RS3 oil change is a bit more work compared to most cars due to it's oil filter literally just being a piece of paper in a housing, which is full of oil.

get yourself one of these and skip draining from bottom and/or having to lift the car at all.

I have been using the extractor for years on several vehicles to help keep this process clean and smooth. The only vehicle I have run across that it was not useful on was a Subaru, apparently the boxer engine sump is very different on those. The extractor has been great on all my Audi/VW models as well as a few Mazda and Hyundai vehicles as well.

Since the oil filter is under the car, oil extractors arent very usefull on this car, so for tools, oil and filter:

    Tools

    1. Oil filter drain tool https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    2. Oil filter housing socket: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    3. Drain plug is Torx so ill assume you have a Torx socket set

    4. Oil, imho nothing beats Made in Belgium Castrol Edge 0W-40, 5 qt jugs from Walmart for ~$23

    5. Filters, OE, Hengst, or Mann

    Enjoy the machine!
Stage 1 more than you RS3

T45 and T25 for the belly pan, a socket for the oil filter, oil plug tool to pull the oil plug, oil plug, oil filter + o-ring if you don't plan on going extraction method. I use a rhino ramp and it's easy.

Just got the oil change done. Got all the parts mentioned and am running Mobil1 ESP 0w30. Very straight forward and easy on this car. I changed out the factory oil and had 2000 miles on. Now I will change every 5000. Cheap insurance in my opinion and I am particular on maintenance.

Thank you all for the input. Im all about having the right tools for the job.
