A6 3.0. Those engines are some of the best Audi has ever made.

    Anything without an EA888 Gen2 2.0T.
Yeah, the supercharged 3.0T is very highly considered. But nothing is 100% solid, and anyone could be the reason we have to keep statistics.
2012 was the first year for the C7 with the electromechanical steering rack. You might want to check in on that, as J500 thread one after the other seems to be popping up lately for the B8.5 owners.
But that 3.0T A6 will run rings around any 2.0T car. Had a 2014 (?) loaner for a week, was a blast. And easy to bump up the power with a pulley swap.

The 3.0 blown or not, is miles ahead in reliability of the 2.0T. The problem with the N/A 3.0 is it does nothing well performance or economy wise. It has the fuel mileage of a 4.2 and almost the same power as the 2.0T. I had a '12 Q5 come through the shop today with the NA 3.0. The acceleration was lack luster to say the least and the logged fuel mileage was pretty abysmal (17mpg indicated). Does the A6 you're speaking of have the NA or blown 3.0? I'm not sure of all the engine options the C7 had. I do know the FWD C7s still have the lousy CVT, at least when it's behind a 2.0T. If it has that trans, then hard pass and deal with the A4 and slap a set of chains and fresh trouble charger on it.

The rest of the cars reliability will be the same though.

I assume you mean the 3.2L V6. There was not a N/A 3.0L V6 (maybe if you go back far enough, but not since the mid 00's). The 3.2L was not used in the B8.5 or the C7.0. The Q5 was its only use in the B8.0 for MY11 or MY12 (also used in the MY10 A5; all three B8 products used it in MY09).

Any FWD Audi should be a pass.
