Third Brake light warning - 2013 Allroad

I am getting a dash light for the third brake light being out. The dash light comes on sporadically with no real rhyme or reason to heat, cold, bumps etc. But when the warning light comes on, the third brake light is still working. If have read other posts about the third brake light going out occasionally due to loose connections and receiving the warning. But I just get the warning and the light is still working.

Anyone else run into this issue?

I have this issue as well, same symptoms. I recently picked up a set of interior pry tools and am planning to remove the light to re-solder the connection, just haven't had the time lately. Once I get to it I'll make sure to include an update here.

Common failure, could be one of the led's failing and that's enough of a electrical resistance change to trip the light.

Yes, I am also seeing this same fault on my 2013 Allroad. Warning light and loud ping from the dash, but when I check the third brake light it is working fine...all 18 bulbs are lit. Some people have suggested that corrosion on the leads is causing the problem, but corrosion would cause the light to not function, so I don't see how that is the problem. Did you ever figure out a fix for your allroad? Any others care to chime in?

You either fix the issue, wires, LEDs, solders, or you can hope for the problem to fix itself...
