Did anybody ever build a 4.0TT engine in an Audi R8?

    Guys,

I am considering to have lock for an Audi R8 but I am a little bit affraid that i Will be missing the torque of my S7 stage 3.

I have steen that there are turbokits for the R8 but those are serious money (25k) and then this it is an engine not build to be turbocharged.

Would it be possible to build in an RS6 engine in an Audi R8?. These engine you can buy for around 10k. So with Some bigger turbo’s you should be able to have it build in for around 20k. You can then even sell your old engine.

Did anybody ever try this? What would be the issue you could run into? Placement of the intercollegiate I would imagine being one.

    Any other issues?

You need the R8 block for the prop shaft passage. And I think the 4.0t has the accessories mounted on the wrong side as well.

So not so easy as I would have hoped...

Anu other ideas to increase the power of a R8 for let’s say 15k?

I have a modded RS7 and a stock'ish Gen 2 R8 (5.2L 602hp/413tq). Is it lacking torque in comparison? Yup. Do I care? Absolutely not. It drives better than any sedan from Audi and it's a screamer . Think screaming crotch rocket high revving power. That's the R8. It's like taking off in a jet (R8) versus just getting punched in the seat (RS7).

    It's a different experience.

EDIT: Despite the difference my R8 is still faster.

I think the turbo kits are closer to 50 or 60k.

    35K supercharger bolt on
    40K turbocharger bolt on

65k more boost on turbo with upgraded clutch

    100k+ for your crazy builds

Not worth the money in my opinion.
