Q5 sound absorption foam pad in engine bay - What is the part #?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My 2015 Q5 has two black foam pads, apparently sound absorption insulation, near the firewall on both the right and left sides of the engine bay. The right pad has been chewed up by a rodent. I have searched Audi parts sites and have not been able to identify the part name or number. I called my Audi dealer and described the pad. One side appears to sit on top of the shock mount and the other side is draped down to the side of the engine. The pad is attached by two plastic fasteners.

Assuming the dealer found the right part, he said the price is $109.99, but declined to give me the part number per dealer policy. I figured it would be pricey but $110 for a small foam pad is crazy.

I have it circled in red in the attached photo. The second photo shows my actual damaged pad.

Can anyone provide the part #? Thank you!

    Thanks for all the replies!

Comparing this part's photos to the part in my car, I am not sure they are identical. Here is another picture.

    Can anyone confirm?

You got the part number that you asked
    Compare pictures online,

Good luck in searching and checking the part number, let me know if you find the correct part number

PS: I have a suggestion for you, take out that part and look for the serial number on the inside

The correct number for this part is 8R0863802A, which is for the passenger side. I assume 8R0863801A is for the driver's side.
The only way I figured this out was by removing the part, taking pictures, then comparing to the online photos. No descriptions online say this is for the passenger's side. The section on my part that had the part number stamped into it was chewed away by the rodent.

Thanks again for the initial part # suggestion. I never found it or the correct part # in my numerous searches previously and I have yet to see a diagram that includes either part.

Were you able to source this part and fix your problem? I’m having the exact same issue on a 2015 US SQ5. Varmints ate the tasty cover over the passenger side strut done. This *looks* like the correct piece for me, I’m hoping you can tell me the correct piece if this isn’t it.

Those are not near the firewall, they are near the plenum chamber wall. The firewall is at the base of the windshield. Either way, it's the item [6] on the already linked ilcats.ru page:
    https://www.ilcats.ru/audi/?function...20&language=en
so 8R0 863 801A for left, 8R0 863 802A for right - https://parts.audiusa.com/p/52226998/8R0863802.html I wouldn't advise paying MSRP to Audi for it; you have the p/n, search around.

Thanks for the reminder! I went outside and cleaned the cowl immediately, believe it or not. :) Used my cordless leaf blower and cleaned it right out.

I also called Audi Mpls with that part # and they confirmed it was the correct part #, but it's $151.66 from them. I'll look for a better price in the next few days.

I recently had the same problem with the other side. The foam must be tasty to mice. I remember when they made foam packing peanuts out of
corn, so that could be the same thing here, tastes like food. My damage was not as large, so I just trimmed it away with a knife.

I use snap traps and have caught 2 in the last month. My Audi is kept in a large farm building.
