Anyone here with a user review on Vogtland coilovers ?

Heidi, our new B8.5Q stablemate to Wolfie (sig below ) rides badly on her S-line sport shocks/Eibach pro spring mod we quickly discovered after a week of ownership..its the only mod the previous owner did that's disappointing.
We have a direct comparison with Wolfie's Vogtland coilovers on the same sealed minor road into our rural area.No competition, hands down,Wolfie wins.
Don't know if the shocks are shot or its not a good combo...but were thinking of ditching this setup and going with V/land c/overs.We're very happy with them on Wolfie after over 100k miles on them (pity about his engine, but that's another story-open heart surgery may be his only chance.. )
I have the drum that the Avant setup is preferred as the sedan rears as supplied tend to lose tension and the rear end wallows etc...Makes sense,we upgraded the rear springs to 750lb Hyperco's on the B7 about a month after fitting.

Ecs no longer stock these but other sellers do.
I can buy them direct from Vogtland for a very keen price inc freight to Australia....
Still would like to hear from anyone out there who fitted these.

I’ve had vogtland coils on my avant for ~3yrs now. I’ve been very happy with them, they handle the shitty Colorado roads extremely well. I blew out the front right shock, but vogtland warrantied it and made the process super easy. I’m running mine all the way up, wheel gap is minimal and no issues with rubbing

Sounds good,I'd defin go with the avant model for the beefier springs and maybe different rate.
Btw,pretty cool looking avant you have there.....are they 19 or 20's ? I'm even thinking of swapping back to 18's

Ringsby4, my guess is your bad ride is related to the shocks not being compatible with the spring rate of the Eibach springs, you should be running Bilstein B8 Sport Shocks with those springs.
    https://www.bilstein.com/us/en/product/bilstein-b8/

The B8 Sport shocks are specifically designed for a lowered sport spring set up.

Interesting,I was thinking that could be it (although my shocks have done 60k ml and wouldn't be the greatest ).I was talking with another member here and the B8 is the shock he recommended and fitted.
Fronts and rears in B8's cost the same as a set of Vogtland coilovers and going down that route I would have height adjustability which is pretty important to me if I put the 18" Alzors on which have a lower o/all height...I'm at minimums with the Eibach's now.

Great recommendation ,Did you fit them yourself ? I only ask this as I'm wondering whether Vogtland supplies all rubber perches etc. They're pretty scant on info on their w/s.Did you have to supply anything not included ?
I seem to remember when I fitted the kit to my B7 I need a few bits....after 7 years I'm a bit foggy on that though

When I helped my son install Vogtland coilovers on his GTI you had to supply your own dust covers, bump stops and upper shock mounts.

If the A4 has over 80K miles I would suggest you buy new bump stop and upper shock mounts when installing the coilovers or even if you just replace shocks and continue to use the Eibach springs. Hopefully when the Eibach springs where installed they changed to the short front bump stop, if not you could be hitting that regularly on compressions.

Thanks,no I'm below that mileage and her life so far probably would have been sealed road city driving.Car had no stone chips or underbelly gouges to speak of.Heidi's in pristine condition.
Incidentally, you guy's may think that driving here is pretty hard-core but from what I have learnt from this forum over the years seeing how your suspensions age and wear,we last longer in that regard.Sealed roads are pretty good over here, and no salt. Most of the population is in the coastal fringe with few cars like ours in the outback-that's Toyota Landcruiser territory.
I've probably driven in half a dozen US states over the decades so have a vague feel for things over there.
Short, long bump stops ? What would these be
    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...mper-8k0512131
Could you please enlighten me on this ? Not sure if I've hit anything hard enough in the week of ownership to feel any bump stop impact but not doubt I will find something massive to hit eventually

You need these in the front (72mm) https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...per-8k0412131f or OEM https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...vag-8k0412131f

Some have successfully cut their rear bump stops because a shorter one is not available off the shelf, you can find the info in this A4 forum's search.

^ The Vogtland Kit comes with fresh bump-stops.

At least my kit did that I purchased a few years ago (Fall 2019) from a sponsor on here who said they were "in stock" after a huge drama I got the kit and had a great shop here in Scottsdale install them a few weeks ago.

Lusso Motorsports gets two thumbs up for their work and attention to detail.

Also installed fresh lower control arms from FCP Euro and adjustable uppers from SPC.

I have read previously that Vogtland, KW and Bilstein use a bigger dampening rod than some other manufactures. I don't know for sure but the rear rods are thicker than Koni Heavy Duty rear shocks as I had one leak after about 5 years of heavy use (hauling stuff, track days etc.) Replaced the rear units with the Koni's.

I see, finding specific info is sometimes difficult on here-there's so much good info,I find I get sidetracked way too often !

You had a good run from the looks of it.I looked up that number on your old dampener and came up with this using Google translate :
    https://translate.google.com/transla...75_1436-10.pdf
A wealth of info here for those interested, looks like an approval certificate. As hard as I looked I couldn't find any info specifically for that dampener number ie rod dia etc-
Why is the Koni rod longer in the last pic ,is it because the old one is collapsed and has no gas pressure ?
My Vogtlands on the B7 weeped slightly since day one,V/L said this is normal when new but they never really stopped ( I wiped them whenever I had the wheels off ), doesn't seem to affect the dampening though, they're still working well.

Is it pretty safe to say that the Vogtland kit for the Allroad is too low in the rear and its advised to get the KW 30MM spacers? I'm not looking for a slammed look, maybe a 1.5 inch drop F/R and a comfy sporty ride.

that has not been my experience. its the same kit for a4 avant/allroad and I can't imagine the specs between the two wagons are very different. ride height has been optimal for me all the way up (shitty Denver roads mountain driving etc), and I've never thought the rear was to low.

Another vote for Vogtland coilovers. After riding in A4 Centaurs’ Avant I eventually decided to swap from the Bilstein B12 kit to Vogtlands and couldn’t be more happier. Great bang for the buck for someone who doesn’t track their car. Considering a set for my S4.

And like Centaur said, you don’t need new bumpstops, the kit I ordered from AJUSA (direct from factory) came with new ones.

Hey Ry-man thanks, another great recommendation .Do you recall if you bought the avant set instead of the sedan's as Achtung ms recommends here:
