Hello,
I've got a 2010 Audi A4 Quattro, 2.0T/I4 (B8) CAEB with bent intake valves, (all stock, no mods).
Just looking to get this car running again with as few hiccups as possible. The intake valves became bent because it jumped a few links on the timing circuit. I've bought new tensioners, guides, chains. This'll be my first-time replacing intake valves. That said I have a few questions and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
When shopping for new parts I've noticed a huge price difference between various brand types offered.
Is there one brand better than others? I checked the OEM dealer prices and thought $60+ per valve was a bit off. Which is why I’m asking before I buy a set.
Also seems there’s variations in what the valve is made of material wise, (sodium, stainless steel, and other performance types). Which should I get? Is it costmary to replace valve springs when replacing with a new set of valves?
Can I get by with just replacing the valves and reinstalling the cylinder head, or should I take it to the machine shop to have it checked for warping as well as having it pressure checked?
Could really use someone expertise that's done this before.
Thanks ahead of time!
