You will need new brackets to fit those calipers on 345mm rotors or get 365mm rs5 rotors if you want to use the stock ttrs caliper + bracket setup.

The only brackets that I know of that exist for use with 345mm rotors and ttrs calipers would be here https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/front...-discs-ak0010/
Otherwise you would have to make custom ones I think. I was planning on getting these exact brackets for my ttrs calipers since I didn't want to machine the 370mm ttrs rotors to fit my b8.5 (ttrs has smaller hubs than a b8 audi). In the end I ended up using rs5 rotors with ttrs calipers and the only thing that you need to do is fit a 1mm spacer where the caliper mounts to the upright.

Looks like there is also an option to mount these calipers to 320mm rotors with this bracket https://www.bks-tuning.com/audi-a4-s...-brackets.html

I have a set of DB9 calipers (Same as the TTRS just cheaper) on the way. I'm looking to match them up to Porsche 360x36 Macan rotors. I need to measure the width first. I've spoke to VBT about increasing the carrier height to accommodate them.

There is no way a db9/ttrs caliper will fit over a 36mm thick rotor. Stock ttrs and db9 rotors are 32mm thick. My setup is as close as it gets with 34mm rs5 rotors and that's pushing it.

There is maybe 1mm of clearance on each side of the caliper on the inside. Too close to my liking but so far I had them on for the past month.

There was a recall on these 4 piston calipers a while back from audi that's how I ended up with a cheap set of these calipers and ttrs rotors to begin with. The only thing audi did was add weights on the back of the new calipers during the recall.

Newer ttrs/rs3 have 8 piston calipers instead of these.

Easiest way would be to get q5/macan 4 piston calipers with stock 345mm rotors just like I have on my b6.

That's good information to know. I hadn't been able to find any pad to pad measurements for the caliper, so I figured I'd try it. Did you fab your own carrier? I'd rather not go the Q5 route.

I'm using the stock ttrs carrier that came with the caliper. That's why I went with the rs5 rotors since its a direct bolt on and you can get them at rockauto for about $225 each for the non waved ones.

Way easier than machining a ttrs rotor to fit the b8 hub and the spacers you need to put between the hub and rotor for the ttrs rotor offset to match the ttrs caliper.

I did notice that compared to the q5 calipers they have different sized pistons even for a 4 piston so I had to swap the caliper over to the other side of the car.

To space out the caliper in the center of the rotor and not rub I got 1mm washers where the caliper mounts to the upright.

Cant use stock brake lines with ttrs/db9 calipers so bought lines for a rs5.

Many cars use the brembo f40 caliper variants(just like your db9 caliper). For example Subaru pads fit if you want pad choice but they dont come with wear sensors.

This is all the info I had trouble finding. Just to confirm, the TTRS caliper carrier, with 1mm spacers, will bolt on to the S4 knuckle and allow you to run RS5 rotors? I had read about the TTRS rotor and its one off dimensions. The TTRS calipers use 40/44 sized pistons vs the Q5 42/42. Indeed many cars do use this caliper. The DB9 and TTRS are the only models I found with add on carriers instead of cast in ones. What are your thoughts on the feel of the TTRS caliper on the S4?

These Brembo series calipers can be reversed. You have to swap the bleeders and crossovers. The downside for me is that I'm using DB9/ V8 Vantage calipers, so they didn't come with TTRS carriers.

Yes got mine from Mcmaster carr and 1mm to be exact. There is very little wiggle room for adjustment if you loosen up the carrier bolts on top of the carrier but that is all that you can do.

Im on stock ttrs brembo brake pads for now and the brakes are way more touchy in traffic.

Yes you swap everything over to the other side of the caliper just like QuattroJ said. One other thing is to use your stock b8 caliper bolts because stock ttrs are a little too short for the b8 knuckle.

Just to be clear u can mount these on b5/b6/b7 cars as well...since q5 brembos mount to all these platforms also.

The DB9/ V8 Vantage calipers are far cheaper than the TTRS set. In for pictures also.

I read about the Audi recall. Aston didn't seem to have this problem. I've read several posts on here that people had success with swapping pads. I wonder if that was the difference.

Some people put a chamfer on their brake pads as well to fix the vibration problems. But the major change was audi putting the weights on the back of the caliper just like newer Audi calipers have.

Have you used this setup on the track? Or through some twisties? How has it affected your confidence in the brakes? Thoughts compared to the stock set up?

Well larger rotors and more clamping force over stock brakes is more than enough for the street and I don't track my car so I don't need super expensive brakes.

Thanks. They must be thinner than Aston pads. I'm getting a 32.5mm pad to pad measurement on these calipers (Aston uses 32mm thick rotors). I need to find the thickness of the TTRS pads.

I barely fit my pads in because of the thicker rs5 rotor. I didn't measure the pad thickness unfortunately.

Makes sense. I'm gonna have a machinist look at shaving down the guide blocks. I think it should work for 36mm. Pads are problem now.

Well if you are still trying to fit these over your 36mm porsche rotors then you definitely need to grind the inside of the caliper.

New pads will definitely need to be cut down to even fit with your wide rotor. But then again that is almost 2mm to take off each pad to even make them fit.

Just like I previously said that my 34mm rs5 rotors fit as close as possible without modification to the actual caliper.

With some of the pad measurements I've been gathering, I think its doable. The blocks are the issue. Its solid metal and I can't see a safety issue taking 1mm off each block. The pistons have enough travel. I won't do more than 1mm though. I need to find pads. This route is cheaper than having brackets fabbed.

Right now, the Q5 pads are looking promising at 2mm thinner than the TTRS. Still researching though.

So what did you end up doing with the caliper carriers? Custom made?
