It's pretty easy, and there are a ton of videos online that give good tutorials. My first experience was wrapping my entire Miata by myself, and I didn't feel overwhelmed at all. It needs to be done in a warm space, as vinyl gets stiffer and you'll have trouble with adhesion if you try to do it when it's very cold. It might help to get extra and practice to get a feel for the wrap and how it handles and is manipulated when heated, and how to keep from getting wrinkles around curved edges.
$100 for the front grille with a warranty isn't
terrible, but how good is the shop? Make sure you'll like the work they do. And don't forget that part of wrapping is trimming the excess, so do you trust someone else around your trim with a razor? Personally, I would say it's worth it to spend the time learning yourself, with the bonus being you'll start to see so many other things in your life that could do with some good vinyl wrap!
