Audi A4 B7 FWD to Quattro conversion

Hey, so I’ve been toying with the idea of having my B7 saloon converted from fwd to Quattro.
But I have no damn clue how to go about it. The most I’ve tinkered with my car is changing the lightbulbs, Tyres and adding Bluetooth to the stereo. So you see how very out of depth I am when it comes to what I’ve posted as the title.

More details about my car :
    2007 Audi A4
    2.0 TFSI
    Manual
    Saloon

From the people who have done this before, what do I need specifically ?

I’ve looked online and most of them say I need a donor car, but what specifically do I need to swap out ?

Ideally I’d like to keep the car as it has sentimental value to it, hence why I’m thinking of conversion rather than getting another car with Quattro.

Also if you know anyone in the UK that does this specifically in the south east would be mighty helpful.

Anddddddd finally how much is it gonna cost me to do this ? In my head I’m thinking it’s gonna be around £2k-£3k but I’m hoping to get a more precise figure.

    Many thanks in advance
    A very very Audi newbie

Sell your car and buy a Quattro.

The parts and specialized labor alone will be a big amount of $$$. Also what about insurance for a highly modified vehicle? Not sure if there a legal/dmv/dot regulations. Better to just get a Quattro

You don't want this done, it's way above your guessed price and a complete waste of money. The frame isn't even exactly the same. The entire rear will need to be swapped, you'll need the front differential modified, suspension will be different, etc. Fitment won't be right.

This kind of undertaking in these cars is not something as easy as changing a WRX to RWD, it's a nightmare.

Just buy a Quattro and swap over all the sentimental stuff from your FWD. Trust me.

The swap is quite involved, and unless you are wanting to do for the sake of doing it the time and money would be better spent simply buying a quattro car.

Since there have been no helpful answers you'll need a the quattro trans, quattro diff, quattro rear subrame with axles, driveshaft, quattro fuel tank, and a new exhaust (for quattro of course). There's a few other odd ends you'll need as well such as the the heat shielding and maybe the shift linkage. If you can get it off a quattro car that is breaking then you can swap everything over. FWD and quattro share the same everything else and there's no ecu coding required. It's strictly mechanical parts swaps. There's a DIY somewhere on this forum as it's been done by a few people. Hope that helps.

I’ve just done this with my cvt and bought a doner but I didn’t take interior wiring so have esp light on dash. Have figured out how to sort esp light yet. Took 4 days. I’m a plumber not mechanic.

Did you go with a manual or Tiptronic transmission?
