2014 RS7 reliability and/or things to know about these cars?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I have a stage 2+Audi S4 B8.5 and am looking to delve into one of these....2014 RS7 with 90,000kms.

What if anything should i be aware of?
Are kilometers like this of concern....close to 55-60k miles?
Looking for advice before delving into or avoiding....

Thx for your help with this....

I've come across a few other threads and want to pick your brains:
    1. what sort of labor would be involved with changing the stock turbo oil screen with a Rev G freer flowing type? I've seen threads indicating the front bumper and many parts have to be removed to accomplish this?
    2. what is involved with changing the PCV on a vehicle like this?

DO NOT put ANY screen in even the rev g, they have all been shown to clog in some capacity. Absolutely no reason to run a screen. The labor for screen/pcv is significant and not cheap but the dealer will do the ocv for free as per audi 120k mile extended warranty.

Are you looking to do it yourself? If so, there is a large thread about this, with DIY steps: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...arator-R-amp-R

If you are looking to pay someone to remove it, I believe people have paid in the ballpark of $2k.

I'm having it done right now on mine. My 2-year extended warranty expires in 2 weeks and I'm almost at 60k miles. The PCV, spark plugs, check valve/screen, and all the gaskets/seals came out to about $450 and the shop is charging me $1250 labor. Dealer wanted basically double. Add in a tune and you're still under $3k, which is less then I paid for my warranty. (Only time I used that warranty was for an O2 Sensor btw).

Not too worried about anything else on the car. Still very happy with it and don't plan on getting rid of it for awhile, or until things start breaking every week lol.

I thought all the blown turbos were the S models, not RS. Screens being an issue aside of course. This is a great jump. I still have my B8 S4 but really thinking of selling it even though it’s a 6MT. Just doesn’t compare in any way.

Misleading, s and rs are identical nearly.

    It’s definitely misleading at times.

I like to say: any variant of the 4.0T is not immune to the oil screen issue.

RS variant has billet turbine wheels vs cast in S models. RS is also a lower compression engine vs the S models - very noticeable when tuning. The exception being the S8 (same as RS)
