How many have tried this tactic.
So im experimenting in Oil and fuel consumption
Castrol is a U.K.-based producer of industrial and automotive lubricants for a global market. The company was founded by Charles Wakefield in London in 1899. 8 It was acquired by*BP*in 2002. 9 Castrol lubricants are sold in automotive stores and gas stations in over 150 countries.Dec 10, 2020

So I figured since the oil cap in my 2015 S3 says to put in Castrol why not fuel up with British petroleum Fuel stations.
I'm lucky to have a pump 1mile from my apt.

Today was my second fill up since I had a mix of 93 Shell mix with BP first fuel up.

Trying to see how the Knock behave with my COBB accesport.

Castrol 0W40 European Formula oil change in 1500 miles.
It's cold in New England summer I'll run 5w40 again...

The gasoline you buy in America...is made and refined in America...its a name your paying for...BP...Shell..other...generally all buy from one of several US based refineries...

The Castrol oil 0w-40 I bought at Walmart for $24 for 5 quart jug...said Made in Belgium on it.

The other issue..is gasoline is made differently for different parts of the country...it also varies through out the year...

So the gas you get where you buy is probably different than the gas in other states.

Based on my experience with my A3 (Stg 2+) and having tried many oils and gas brands, the oil my car likes best is Castrol Edge either 5w-40 or 0w-40 and the gas it responds best with is BP and Shell (93 octane that is). Other people may experience differently based on their geographical location and altitude.

The you buy are generally from regional refineries. Each retail brand just get their own cleaning additive packages. Nothing magical about it.

Boutique overpriced motor oils also buy their base oil from big refineries.

Should last me till my 80,000 change 5K sometimes 3K if I put miles on it.
I Daily the S3. Can't blame for babying it
