    Thinking of buying a 2017 A4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello All,

After recently selling my S6, I was looking at a 2017 audi A4 vin # WAUFNAF45HN063098 that is for sale close to me. But I am apprehensive. I have noticed that there are A LOT of 2017 A4's for sale. Was there a problem with them?

Anyone have any history that would like to share?

    Thank you!

No, they are just continuing to come available off-lease. Most leases are 36 months, so when they and the cars are sold. I bet you find a lot of 2017 and 2018 luxury cars for sale compared to other years.

There's a lot of them simply because Audi makes a lot of them.

I have a 2017 a4 and am enjoying it. I would recommend if you can, finding one with the sport seats as they are a substantial upgrade in the standard that are rather bland and a bit firm.

Depending on mileage, you should also keep a few things in mind that you may have to pay out of pocket for, specifically the 40k maintenance interval which includes dsg flush and fill, spark plugs, engine oil change, and a few others.

Also keep in mind that the a4 with the EA888 is going to feel quite slow compared to your s6. Mine is currently running a revo stage 1 tune and full bolt-ons. I have found these mods get it to where it needs to be for enough fun around town to keep me from buying an rs3, but this platform is unfortunately quite limited due to the longitudinal engine setup vs transversely mounted in the a3/s3 which allows for a bigger turbo.

Additionally, I find that the body design and interior is great and will continue to hold up in this market for several years, just make sure you get the technology package with premium plus (at least) to enjoy the virtual cockpit, larger lcd infotainment screen, and LED head lights

I've had my P+ for just over 3 years; has 56*K on it. Other than scheduled maintenance and a couple of recalls the only things done was front brake pads and rotors at right around 51K and a right rear seat latch in the 1st year.

Bought my CPO 2017 A4 with 46k miles on it last year and it’s still holding up. Granted I haven't been driving it as much and only use my car for fun drives most of the time. I have already added a tune and mods to it and truly like this car. That said, I had planned on keeping this car long term, but like what jtripleog, the A4's tuning potential is limited and even if you can push it further, you'd have to worry about the DSG since it can't handle that much more torque. I may eventually upgrade to a B9.5 S5 actually.

I have 36k on my '17 P+ S-Line. LOVE LOVE LOVE this car. Only issue so far is the park solenoid in the transmission went out, replaced under warranty. Retail would have been $2,400+ at the dealership. There are so many fun things you can do to these cars and the aftermarket support is good.

Also looking for MY17 or MY16 here in Australia.
Q.do the US delivered B9 cars have the DSG box you mentioned above because unless I'm mistaken all the B8 US auto trans delivered cars had a ZF slush box ( waay better in terms of reliability ) but all our B8's all had the DSG ( except S4 )...

I'm yet to drive this model but very keen to.It seems like a huge advancement over the B8...

    Test drove a 2016 B9 Q 2.0 today at the dealers,boy what a difference to a B7.Having never driven a B8 I'm betting its a big leap forward from that model too.
Nice car,90,000km,full Audi service history.Auto with graphic display,Audi assist, sunroof and not much else.Hard to pick from new.
I cant stand the multi spoke wheels and would probably bolt wider Alzor 349 rep wheels on....Whilst the car has std suspension height,a B9 somehow looks lower and more planted than a B8.
Interested what you guy's think the 2 year Audi 2 year warranty would be worth coming with this car over a private sale with obviously no warranty? Incidently the warranty is not transferable.
Now,just to buy it for the right price...
