    Lowering Links

On my B9.5 SQ5 I went with MTM lowering links. Very satisfied.

I know there is a CETE thread, but this thread is for everyone to post up their links.

After some adjustments my settings are:

    Front:29.25”
    Rear: 29.75”

I found with having the front half inch lower it significantly improves handling.IMG_0963.jpgIMG_0964.JPGIMG_0965.JPG

Later this week I have spacers arriving. Might lower some more. Loving this set up and ride!

Looks killer! When you get the spacers on, would you mind posting a pic of it in the different drive modes? (comfort, allroad, dynamic)

Spacers arrive tomorrow. This weekend I will put them on, and ceramic coat each wheel.

Feel free to use my numbers to set yours up. I might go lower this weekend, but not too sure how much I have left on the rear. BTW, I made the adjustments just by putting it in allroad mode.

Nice, it looks like the MTMs are easier to take off the posts than the oem ones are. Glad that there aren't any suspension errors/alerts at this height.

If you have the air suspension then check out the CETE module. Best bang for your buck mod in my opinion.

Second this. The CETE module is the pricier option but the ROI is much higher as you can control the height settings in so many ways.

So this about links, I installed them on my new 2021 sq5 and have them adjusted for the look I was looking for, much like the OP in this thread, been on for about 2 weeks sits awesume in Dynamaic, rides really mice in comfort still with a nice lower than stock look. Fast forward to today, I just got my new wheels in, went down to my local tire changer, after they brought the car around on the lift area I went to the open garage door to veiw the car up on the lift, so I saw the person taking off the stock tires and just happened to mention that he had put the car in CHANGE TIRE MODE, he said what is that!!!! I was like OH BOY, I explained to him but at this point it was up on the lift with two wheels off. So long story shorter, he finishes the wheel chage over to my tires begins to lower the lift and the suspension is not settleing down it is EXTREME 4x4 mode. after a couple of minutes the front settled down to where it was when I drove it there in comfort mode, but the back would not, installer is dumb found not knowing what to do, I am like WTF, so likely the Audi dealer I bought the car at was only up the road, I took it there they looked at it, I explained what the tire changer did not do by putting it in tire change mode. So now the rear control moduels are not workling and the rear is all Jacked up, I am so P.OD. and now the dealer has to order new mods. and it will be 4-5 days, The tire change company is paying for all the repair which I belive is over a thousand plus to fix, So just beware with lowering links and putting up on a 4 post lift that the rear lowering links will over center and not function again leaving the vehicle all jack up in the rear. What a bad day......

I don't know if others have had this happen with links installed so I thought I would put this out.

Check with 2bennett just in between west Sac and Davis. Or give me a week and I’ll post their response here. Audi Rocklin wasn’t thrilled when I asked them about it.

I’m chasing a 1/4 inch level between my LF and RF on MTM lowering links. And my RF is significantly shorter than my LF.

Super frustrating and likely I’m the only one who notices...but any suggestions?

If you want to drive down to the Bay Area Dubclinic in Santa Clara can do this.

Just FYI. Tire change mode is a thing. At least on my cayenne you have to effectively turn off auto leveling before you put the car in the air or the compressors are going to go nuts trying to keep the car level. So was the fail here that he did, or didn’t use tire change mode?

Same here. NOw I have a ton of faults too.... no cruise control or blind spot monitoring.

Going to put the stock ones back on, drive it for a few weeks and see if it resets.

I think the MTM links are good, but I too have it off on one side.

Went with the Airmatic links and installed them myself after renting some lift time at a shop in Brooklyn that is my go-to whenever I need her on a lift. I couldn't figure out how to put the rubber grommets on, so I just filled the ball joint and socket with a ton of lithium grease to avoid metal on metal contact. Had her on Wheel Change mode and install was fairly easy - minus getting the links to not move and stay the same height while installing. Found out a tip for this is to tape them length wise! Anyway, cycled through the modes and the ride was great and was looking forward to getting my spacers and new rubber and had no issues for a few weeks. It all happened when I got my first Air Suspension Error, then the Auto headlight error and yadda yadda. Went away after I shut the engine off and restarted and had no issues for a while but now it's like almost everyday I get this error. I tried deactivating Level Control and the Calibration in OBD11 and had her start up to Normal Height and Activated Level Control and now not only is my ride shit, as in super harsh in Dynamic, but I also have to deal with this error message.

For those wondering, no I did not delete the settings and set her back to default as I made sure to do my homework as to what not to do in VAGCom/OBD2 with the car and the air suspension leveling system. Anyone have any ideas? I'm not even that low! With Dyanamic I haven't measured her but the finger gap test gives me 1 and a half finger gap in front and 2 fingers in the back between top of the tire and fender wheel well. Please help - this is driving me nuts and I really don't want to take off the links, along with the mods, and bring her into Audi to get this sorted.

    Lowering Links

I had this same issue on mine. I could not get rid of the codes.

I ended up taking the links off, putting the stock ones back on, and driving for a couple days.

Then I cleared all the suspension fault codes with an ODBEleven, reinstalled the links, and haven’t had an issue since.

It’s super frustrating- that’s for sure.
