Speedometer not working and odometer not working and no ABS lights on. RPM works

Hello i bought a audi a4 2002 some months ago and I can't figure out why my speedometer and odometer dont work what could be wrong?

Could be bad wiring, a bad sensor, or bad module. In 2002, you may have a speed sensor in in the transmission, or it could be using the wheel speed sensor. If it's using the wheel speed sensor, it could be the ABS module itself.

If you have this plug above your drivers side drive axle you are using the ABS sensor. If there is a sensor here you are using the VSS (vehicle speed sensor).

Hope I can thread jack a little. I have the sensor above the axle but can't for the life of me find the wire that suppose to go to it.
I have two manual harnesses and none of them have that connector.

IIRC correctly only 2002 had a VSS. Did not use ABS for speed reading. It can be changed to read speed from ABS module without any hardware change or wiring. However does require to some specialized tools and being able to read and write flash files to instrument cluster.

You would need to backup your cluster, encrypted and decrypted flash files and then look at the physical flash address at 0x33A changing from 21 to 31. Most of the time Once Changed the speedo should come to life. It is not my fault if you brick your cluster for not following directions. If you are not capable then leave it to the professionals.
