    Splash guard/ Mud Guard For B9 Q5/SQ5

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone has the splash guards installed on B9 Q5/SQ5? Was the installation easy? I don’t see any screws in the wheel well of my SQ5. Not sure how to put them on.

I have two sets. Set #1 was an aftermarket set. Test fit and did not install. They didn't fit well. Set #2 is the factory Audi set. Test fit and did not install. The fit was good but they look terrible on the car. Currently flapless.

Wow they look terrible?! Thanks for the feedback. I took my car for a quick drive yesterday and drove pass a section that is under construction. The mud was terrible and it is all over the front passenger door. I have to decide what to do.

I wish someone can post a pic of their Q5/SQ5 with the splash guard installed

I saw those two pics on the internet. Actually they look ok to me. I spoke to the dealer today. They told me there is no factory splash guard/flaps for my SQ5 after they entered my vin number into their system. The ones for 2021 Q5 are available. But they are not sure if it would be a perfect fit for SQ5. So it's better to wait until they release the version for SQ5.

I had to drive an hour to the dealer today because some stupid rocks got stuck in my brake. That pebble/rock fell off the brake caliper as I am pointing the scratch on the brake rotor to the technician. The technician told me the brake pads of the SQ5 is going to be squeaky and it is normal especially when the car only has 200+ miles on it. It needs to break in. Let's see. I couldn't make the squeaky sound while hitting brake reversing at the dealer lot this morning. The squeaking sound comes back as soon as I arrived in my garage. Anyway hopefully it will go away soon.

They look skinny. Are they doing a good job blocking the dirt?

I don’t think they are shiny, more of a matte finish. They work good, short of putting tractor trailer style splash guards on they help enough that I am happy with them

You can always go with quality PPF instead.

I got them on ebay, seller was advanation but the listing for ones that fit the SQ5 is not active so might be no longer available
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Splash-Guar...item28846345ae

If you do find these PM me, there are clips needed that are not included and I bought a package of 200 so will send you a couple if needed

PPF is definitely a great option ! PPF plus these would be the ideal option for the sides behind the wheel from lower 1/4 of booth doors down and behind rear wheel

Where do I go if I want a PPF for my car? And cost? The PPF only protects the front and rear bumper?

Look here for some installers in your area, you can wrap entire vehicle in this if you want to spend the $$

    3M makes PPF too

Reputable detail shops are what you should look for.

Just like ceramic coating, the preparation work and quality install are paramount for PPF to last and look good. Sometimes paying more for quality work is worth it.

I agree 100%, paid $2K to get fenders, hood. front bumper, door handle cups and back bumper under lift gate at shop where my SQ5 was least expensive care there. The job they did is perfect so may have been able to save $500 somewhere else but can't complain about work they did

Have they designed the mudguards specifically for B9 SQ5?

yes there are OEM ones and they look like hot garbage. those aftermarket ones above look at least not like a pile of steaming shit.

Best bet is to not trash the look and go with quality PPF IMO

I installed these on my '21 SQ5 Sportback.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/36312099409...BoCDNUQAvD_BwE

On the front, I trimmed the rectangular tab shorter in height to allow the flap to fit snug against the body line.

On the Sportback, the bottom of the fenders does not flare-out, so the shallow notch can be almost eliminated with a snug fit.

As for impact, the 21" Pirelli Pzeros are a stickier tire, and with the grit left-over from the winter road treatments, the flaps help contain the sand & stone fling-off.

North of the Mason Dixon Line they are needed if you drive in winter months, even if you don’t like the look.

I’d rather have PPF then run mud flaps.

The salt eats through the film?

Nicks that go through the film, picked up by tire after road salt applied on highway
