    Alltrack Skid Plate, S3

Hey, so I’m planning to lower my car pretty aggressively soon but I’m concerned about the plastic oil pan and really flimsy stock belly pan, so I was going to swap for the Alltrack plate that I’ve seen very highly recommended for the Golf R, OEM fit and finish is great. However, I’m a bit concerned if it will fit onto my S3? I’ve linked it below for reference, I really hope it fits because the only other alternatives are the ECS plate which have really poor reinforcement. Alltrack plate is mounted via the frame rails so much more secure. I tried calling shopdap and they said “I don’t know”, don’t really want to spend $450 to be stuck with “I don’t know”, so hopefully you guys can help me out.

If I were to upgrade, I would consider ECS

Thank you for the suggestion but as I said in the original post, the ECS design is very flawed. It only clips into the front bumpers lower valance like the thin stock belly pan, if you hit something hard enough it will cause the tray to flex upwards at the rear bend until it hits your sump. ECS did finally address this problem with a reinforcement kit that mounts to the frame rails but they don't fit the Golf R, nor the S3 with the reinforcement kit fitted. If I can't fit the alltrack, I'll just run a metal oil pan and leave the rest stock.

This. The S3 pan already covers a decent portion. I know the all track is bigger, but not sure if it has the cooling ducts for the DSG (might jave one instead of two).

I'm sure you'll drive carefully, the pan is just for a "life happens" moment.

It looks like that's what I'm going to have to do, I haven't heard too many horror stories of cracked oil/belly pans so hopefully I'll be alright lol.

I have been looking into this also, I have not had the chance to get under the car to see if the holes for the supports is on the S3. I would assume they are due to the MQB platform, but don't know if anything is in the way.

OP, I guess you can contact paul directly about your question via his shopdap.com YouTube Q&A videos. Don't see why he wouldn't be able to answer your question.

As much as I hate the fact that my daily driver has a plastic oil pan, it should be safe for normal street driving. I have head stories of oil leakage after installation of aftermarket metal pans.

Only concern with the all track is that it has one cooling duct, not 2 (and these cars run hot).

Ironically the A3 belly pan has two cooling ducts and is larger than the S3 pan. But according to the ECS website it won't fit S3. Retrofitting maybe possible though.

As far as steel or aluminum pans go, some come with gasket sealant(difficult to work with and probably reason for leaks). Should be fine with an OEM replacement gasket instead.
