Audi A3 Quattro with Borla Catback

I am debating on a borla catback for my 2017 A3 Quattro. I am looking for more sound, but nothing insane or droney. I still have the stock downpipe and resonator. Does anyone have any input on this exhaust system with everything else being completely stock? How does it sound? Any DSG farts? There seem to be videos with people with S3s or with res-deletes/catless downpipes so if anyone has a video with this exhaust paired to a stock system, please share! Thanks everyone.

I have this and personally love it, but I like noise. DSG fart is more like a pop and not as pronunced. There is some drone, but again I dont mind. Cold start is loud then calms down. Idle is only slightly louder, nice little rumble. Most cruising is fine but there are some drone areas. On WOT, it's "very nice" it is great quality and bolts right on. I installed myself with car on two jack stand and using hand tools, but I'm not a mechanic at all so it took me some time. I wouldn't mind more noise, but I will eventually go stage 2.

And I still have stock downpipe and stage 1.

Hopefully that helps, if the res delete seems like too little but you still want a bit more there are other options.

Milltek non resonated, Magnaflow, Dinan, AWE, Remus all have a stock like big muffler that still sounds nice but is probably not as loud. The Borla with two little mufflers is louder.

I have a remus non-res and it's pretty damn nice. Expensive, but sounds amazing.

Thank you for the input! Is the drone bad/annoying? I am looking for more noise but not anything crazy since the misses also drives my car.

I have a 2017 A3 quattro with the borla catback.

have a few vidoes with it and then added a vibrant resonator since it was insanely loud. now its perfect.
there was alot of rasp at the 3k rpm mark but with the resonator its gone.

Nice vids. Did it get louder with the downpipe?

For me the drone is not annoying. Depends on personal taste, do you have your radio turned up, etc. It won't overshadow conversation either.

I notice most people that ask about drone usually want a quiet exhaust but only louder on WOT. Have you considered one of the exhaust cut outs that you can open and close? Does your wife drive the car often?

I don't have a before for the downpipe since it was all installed at the same time.

It wasn't bad to the point I could not hold a convo, but it's just more personal taste.

I find now with the resonator added in, it's still plenty loud but eliminates that annoying drone when on the highway. I don't tend to listen to music that much while driving.

I have a non-resonated Milltek catback and it's gotten louder overtime. Zero drone at all RPMs and engine loads but it's definitely nowhere near as loud as the Borla catback (heard it once in person). If you are considering getting the Miltlek do not get the black tips...they are too big for the rear valence cutouts and contact the tips as the exhaust moves around. The titanium tips fit perfectly now.
