Question C7.5 MMI Clarifications (Hidden Menu/Green Menu/Developer Mode)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Long-Time AZer, new to C7.5 platform.

Looking for clarifications on MMI/MIB2? enabling the Green Menu that I'm used to on the MMI3G unit.

Using VCDS v20.4 it looks like direct channel access is no longer supported?

Entering Channel 6 directly and Setting to 1 is not possible.

Instead I now see a drop-down with a ton of items, one of which is "Developer Mode"

Entered the SA code S12345, and changed Developer mode from "not activated" to "activated.

    Rebooted the MMI.

Now for my issue: The normal key press of "Car+Menu" for 3-5 seconds does not seem to bring up the Green Menu.

Instead I was able to enter a Developer Menu by using a different key combination, but the menu list is very different and I don't see a way to access any of the traditional mod related menus.

Does the C7.5 MIB2/MMI4G wtf it's called not support mods such as https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...h.dfepmswbuooe anymore?

MIB2 is coded via adaptations channels and security access.
Green Engineering menu is pretty closed down on it.

Thanks Sima, is Developer Menu that I have activated different from "Green Menu" which I don't seem to see as an available channel selection in my VCDS Adaptation drop down?

They are one and the same. VAG gutted the green/dev menu on the MIB2. I went down this rabbit hole shortly after purchasing my '17 S6, and was able to do exactly what you've done, and that was the end of it. Conventional wisdom is, most things, if not everything, that was in the OG Green Menu, is now buried in various adaptations and coding bits, which nobody has completely decoded/deciphered yet.

Its decoded and deciphered alright, just not in the VCDS.
I can make coding inside the MMI without any diagnostic tools.
    Only usb to ethernet needed.

You can enable the green menu with OBD11, although its damn near useless on C7.5. How to do it is over in the VCDS thread with pics.

As I said, I was able to enable the green "Development Menu" via VCDS but coming from a B8 I didn't recognize the menu and the feature list was not what the C7 VCDS mod articles mentioned.

So it looks like the C7.5 MIB2 unit isn't as useful as you said for modding things on the fly. Thanks all.

I never found anything useful (to me anyway) in the green menu in any Audi I've ever owned. Not one single thing. B7 S4, B8 S5, B8.5 S4, now C7.5 S6. I'm not even going to bother checking anymore.

    C7.5 MMI Clarifications (Hidden Menu/Green Menu/Developer Mode)

It was super useful when i did some retrofits, made it really easy to enable various items in the mmi menu like turning on ADS, allowing features to be used while driving etc. granted some things still needed a coding component as well.

Is there any document that lists the functions and options on the green menu on the older C7 cars?

However, I cannot find a similar list of what the various options on the green menu are and why I might want to change any. Anyone have such?

On C7.5 with MIB2, if you've enable the green menu, the button combo to access it is, "Back" + Bottom Left soft key (silver buttons)

That's the VCDS document, not a Green Engineering Menu document.
