    850hp + build recommendations

Hey guys, a friend of mine is wanting to take his 2019 RS3 to 850+hp. He's talked to IROZ and was told it'd be $38k. Performance, reliability (as much as possible), drivability, and consistency are probably his biggest considerations. I'm unfamiliar with the RS3 platform, but told him I'd ask around. We live in Texas, the IROZ being in Vegas isn't ideal (shipping the car out there for all the work, plus if anything goes wrong, etc...). Any recommendations? Is IROZ the best? Others better or comparable?

Which part of Texas ? Boostlogic is in Austin Texas and I know they have wrenched on quite a RS3. Try reaching out to them to see if they can help you on your build.

From who I've contacted, including Boostlogic, there aren't many shops that have the knowledge or willing to build these motors in or close to Texas. Let us know if you find a shop that is able and/or willing to build this motor in Texas.

Iroz is the #1 builder for the RS3 platform as Hank and his team do a great job. Do you know what turbo kit was included? 850S was Syvecs included?

Yeah that $38k was for the IMS 850 kit with syvec.

I too live in Texas, Houston more specifically. I sent my car out to Iroz bc my quotes were coming in about 5k higher at the 2 places in Texas that would do it. Iroz and his team work like a machine and able to get the work done in half the time.

Don’t be mistaken though that doesn’t mean you will have your car back quicker. Usually it takes longer bc of how many cars are there at once. If I could do it over again I would have sent it to TCR in Jersey. He only takes on one build at a time and seems to pump them out quick that way.

I think the 850s is a solid setup performance wise. Reliability, you’re going to get nickel and dimed with mounts, axles, clutches, intake/exhaust, brakes, tires, etc. More power brings certain things up quicker or you realize what you have can be holding you back. Drivability is why I stayed hybrid and probably the limit IMO of power that can be used on the street. Everyone’s different, but that’s my input. TTE777 is proving to be a good middle ground at the moment.

Hi, I am also from Texas and I am interested to see if you found somebody who can build/has experience building the RS3?

To ship the car round trip to IROZ and back to Dallas is probably $2,000. If you have $38,000 to drop on a build, you may as well spend the extra $2,000 and have the best guys in the business build the car. One of the biggest mistakes you can do is try to save a couple thousand dollars on a build like this. Spend the extra money up front and it’ll save you headaches down the road.

Can not agree with this any more, if you're willing to spend the close to $40k just have a proper shop build the car right the first time.

    850hp + build recommendations

You best get on their schedule as IROZ books out months in advance. My daza/dq500 from 2020 donor car just arrived in Vegas for 1000 hp FF treatment. A more expensive way to do it, but I didn’t have to be without my car. Install will happen in IL.

The best part about the new IROZ FF setup is the ability to go from 780, 850, 1000, or 1100 by just switching turbo. Great video

Pag Parts in Long Island NY is another option, he has a number of RS3 builds under his belt. Not to mention he manufactures a lot of his own parts for these cars.

I'm in a similar situation as far as my location influencing the decision. I've done this all before with the GM platform and can't stress enough how important is to line up good local support. My 2 cents:

    1) Regardless of which car we're talking about, you can not trust anyone who profits from your decision.
    2) If reliable/OEM is a prime requirement, leave it alone. You can't expect to double the output of a car's original design and have nothing go wrong.

Race it. Break it. Fix it. Repeat.

This right here, I probably should have just stayed stage 2 honestly. I think about selling my car monthly with the amount of nickel and diming I’ve done since the build. Not problems, but like he said I’m pushing double what this car came with from the factory, so there’s certain things come up quicker than expected.
