Lloyd Mats replaced the one with this one. They have two options now, exposed rails and full cover (that one is inbound).

Ah, that looks proper. Will have to steer customers that way.

Haven't tested out how the tie downs fit yet.

Funny thing is, I didn't want my rails exposed and they didn't tell me that they would be. Have a full coverage one inbound.

The variable cargo bits have been pretty popular so covering the rails wasn't an option for a bunch of customers. Kinda funny though that you didn't want them exposed and got the only one that works properly with them exposed. You should be able to sell that one easily if you wanted to.

    Cheers,
For me, with kids and winter activities, stuff will get in the rails and just drive me nuts, so I don't mind them covered. Most of the time, mats available don't hold things in place like the OE or Weathertech so see how useful the partitions are, but the intent was to get mats that have texture and prevent things from sliding. I think if I had the partitions, they'd stay under the floorboard and never get used or lost but who knows. I didn't mind not having ACC and didn't think I'd care, but now that I have it on my cars, I certainly use it.

Gotta say these options all seem pretty weak. Not sure I can live with the OEM one that says A6 but the Weathertech doesn't really have the most premium finish...I have one in my Q7 and it's acceptable but hardly premium quality.

Just posted on RS6 forum - but Canvasback just emailed to say allroad/RS6 liners now available for purchase. Just placed my order to replace my Frankenstein’d Weathertech mat.

I have the Weathertech. It works well, and looks nice once you replace the badge with an Audi Sport one. I personally like that it has raised edges. Keeps whatever snowmelt may come off of the boots/gear contained.

Around town I either remove it completely or fold it back when I’m using the cargo rails/straps. Been good so far.

Once the snow starts falling for real, the Weathertech will be in there full time.

None of it is perfect, but I don’t see how you can have both worlds if you’re putting anything snowy/wet in the back.

Yes, we want the best of both worlds lol..
I would of followed Treeskier on the weathertech, but looks like canvas back has won me over for the day to day protection+utility.

I MUST say this thread has been super helpful - thank you to all contributors!

Anyone found or modified an RS6/allroad cargo mat to keep the luggage rails usable?

I modified the A6 Allroad Liner from WTech for access to the rails and anchors. Here is how it looks in case it helps you with your decision.

@jimminez@nemesis - do you have a part number for the full coverage Loyd cargo mat? Or do you sell them?

    Thanks much!

Thanks to the others before me for attempting, I picked up some ideas. One of which was to leave the areas that Weathertech wants you to cutout for the normal luggage tiedowns in place - this provided some extra rigidity along the edges. You lose ~3" of travel at the trunk opening and another ~2" 2/3rds up where the other one is, but I think it's worth it for the stability. I may try to open them up in the future if the base seems stable enough. There is a little curling near the cuts - will probably use some velcro tape underneath to hold a few of the edges down. Otherwise, you get full freedom of movement along the rails and the added protection of the cover...

All I used was a Husky box cutter and a roll of Duct Tape to mark the lines. The Duct tape is basically the exact width of the luggage rail - so by putting it down on the mat and cutting around it, it gave me a nice, straight edge to work with.

I did put a 2x4 under the area I was cutting (see bottom area already cut; top area still taped), so that I could use full, constant pressure to go through the mat. With a sharp knife and constant pressure, I was pretty easily able to cut through the mat along the taped edge. I did it in one cut - either stupid or ballsy depending on your view - but that meant I kept a pretty smooth edge overall.

The final product, with luggage strap (thanks @PartsbyTopher) and the luggage net installed.

Inspired by Treeskier, I did mostly the same with my mat (used a painters tape roll to size the cut, used a utility knife on top of scrap wood) and got the same result. The only things I did differently were to only open up the rails on the lower half of the mat, except for one spot on the top left. The rationale was to minimize cutting and mat instability and, at this point, I can't see a great need for using the luggage rails up near the back seats. The one spot on the top left is so I can stow the luggage rail. If I feel like I need full access to the rails in the future I can always cut away more mat. Also, though I haven't done this yet, I kept the strips I cut out and I may silicone them to the underside to stiffen the edges near the cuts where it curls up a bit. The strips fit right into the mold like a lego piece, so that might work out well. Here are my pics.

Here you go…by the mess you can see I need the canvasback. It attaches with double-sided Velcro strips.

Old thread revival. This looks great!

Is this weather tech mat any different from the nornal stock one? Looks like the sides are raised...

Just finished installing the 3D Mats cargo liner, and it worked out. The company says it's for A6 sedans and that it won't fit wagons, but it fits the RS6 perfectly. Only issue is the slots they made for the cargo rails are both too narrow and offset to the left, which only matters if you cut out access to the rails. So on the right side, I had to cut an additional 0.5" off to the right, and on the left side I also had to cut 0.5" off on the right. So if you look closely, it's uneven, but it's not really noticeable. Much much less slippery than Weathertech cargo liners, which I really dislike for that reason. Very light and flexible, so accessing underneath is perfectly easy. Highly recommended.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be afraid to hose it down, and I think that’s expected. It may take a little more effort than the smooth plastic type, but I don’t care, it’ll be worth it. Looks great, fits great, and stuff doesn’t slide around like on mats like Weathertech, which by the way has really gotten junky over the last several years.
