Virtual Cockpit - Different RS Modes?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Can someone help me out here, I am a bit lost. The car has 3 different virtual cockpit modes, the standard RS with the round symbols and then 2 RS performance: one with the rev meter going left to right and the other one as the airstrip rev meter.
Before I explain a lot what the issue is maybe some can answer me this question, is it possible to have different views with RS 1 and 2?

Like have the round gauges as standard comfort, dynamic auto and RS1 the left to right rev meter and RS2 the airstrip. Was anyone able to do this? As far as I can tell, this is not possible or I am missing something.

    Thanks for any insights.

I was wondering the same thing, but it looks like you can't. You can have your default one to whatever you have and the airstrip one for the RS1 and RS2 or have all 3 be the default one. If anyone knows how to change this please chime in.

I'm pretty sure I could do this. It looks like the settings apply ONLY to the mode you're in - so if you set the mode you want to change (normal/RS1/RS2), then go into settings and change the display or whatever, it will stick only for that mode. Repeat for each mode.

you mean you active rs1, go into the settings display settings and virtual cockpit and select there the screen of the 3 you want?
I believe I tried this but I will do it again and report back.

I noticed the three different cockpit display options and was a bit confused when trying to set the one I wanted. I just left it to default or whatever the dealer set it to. I havent put enough miles on my car yet to really figure it out yet. Id like it to stay with the "hockey stick" style all the time in the cockpit and HUD, no matter what mode I am in. Not sure if thats possible or not. Then if you hit the "view" button the steering wheel it tends to change the cockpit display again. And this is coming from someone who is familiar with the virtual cockpit from my A5 and Q8. Must be mind numbing for someone who hasnt used it before lol.

I have mine permanently set to "hockey stick" regardless of the mode The round gauges were ok, but I really disliked the runway thing. Way too visually busy... You can uncheck a setting that automatically switches it to "Runway" gauge when you put it in RS mode, thus keeping it in whatever you prefer (round or hockey stick).

I can keep it in any of the displays but I cannot change the displays by selecting a mode. Except for if you leave rs runway mode option on. I wish you can choose rs hockey stick instead for rs modes

You can select hockey stick for all modes. You need to select hockey stick while in one of the RS modes and then click off the slider button that says something like “change to RS automatically”. That should do it.

I understand how to keep the hockey stick at all times. I wanted to have the circles for Comfort/dynamic and hockey stick for rs1-2.. the MMI does not allow this automatically.

I figured I may have misunderstood that.

I played around with the system this morning trying to do the same thing (circles vs hockey stick) with no success. It is aggravating.

The runway looked neat in pictures but I don’t like it in practice. And would be nice to go from circles to something more unique once in RS modes.

yeah same here and you cannot to this. really stupid. maybe it will change with an update .. we will see. dont know why you cant just configure the cockpit view per mode individually.

Old thread revival. Took delivery of my Tango RS6 and this “lack of feature” sucks. Anyone figure it out yet? You can custom configure everything else about the car, but have to stick with that childish runway graphic? Bizarre.

i dont think so .. maybe this comes with a SW update at some point ... I just have the hockey stick gauge all the time .. I really dont like the airstrip thing and the round ones are boring.

Wonder if there will be remote updates that can be sent and automatically downloaded for different versions of the virtual cockpit? I know BMW has apps etc that allow you to add different displays which is cool.

Likewise. I would like to have round dials for comfort/auto and hockey stick for RS Individual/Performance. Not a fan of the runway tach on my RS3. No way to do this in the MMI. Hoping this could be done with OBDEleven. Has anyone succeeded in coding hockey stick for RS modes? Also I wish that you could change the virtual cockpit mode via MMI while the car is moving. Can this check also be removed via OBDEleven?

    TIA

I've also set round gauges in Comfort/Auto with Runway for RS1/RS2 and I'd prefer Hockey sticks for RS1/RS2 so it matches the heads-up display.
It seems to be tied to the setting under MMI -> Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Audi Virtual Cockpit -> "RS Performance" & "RS Runway" -> "Automatic activation of RS layout"
Tapping "Automatic activation of RS layout" seems to enable/disable it for "RS Performance" & "RS Runway" simultaneously and doesn't seem to allow you to enable/disable independently, which seems odd to me for Graphic User Interface option settings.
To me it should allow for independent enable/disable of each display mode or fully disable to prevent automatic activation
ODB11 may allow it via credit use or long coding, which I'll more than likely purchase at some point.
I can post up if I come across how to change this function.
