Talking AUDI B9 S4 - UNITRONIC STAGE 1+ VS STOCK DYNO TEST

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys & girls! I met up with a local Audi B9 S4 owner that tuned his car with Unitronic Stage 1+ and we dyno tested his car. We tested it with a stock tune first and then I flashed it back to Stage 1+ so we had the same test conditions with all of the same hardware for this comparison. The dyno is a Mustang dyno and we used a Dynojet calibration to try and showcase a number closer to Dynojet readings. It doesn't work as well as they'd like it to at lower power levels, but at least we were able to see the before and after differences the tune made. The owner was using our local ethanol free Chevron 94 fuel with 10% E85 added into it. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

No, at most I would imagine 465 crank horsepower. As I mentioned in the video I feel like those numbers are inflated.

I wonder if/when they decide to do an E85 tune what that would look like, also curious to see some time slips!

I have IC/Intake/turbo inlet with a JB4 and its stout, but the advantages of a flashed tune are appealing to me(once my CPO warranty is up)

Are you basing the 465 crank power off of a 15% drivetrain loss? Is 15% typical for these cars?

EPL has an E40 tune. Best time is 11.3s on stock turbo.

can the EPL be flashed by the end user? Reliable tune? I'm running E40 right now with the JB4, need to get to the track and see what it does still though. Pulls hard though

Yes, with EPL you flash at home. You can also switch maps on the fly. I've been running EPL for a couple months now without any issues. Loving it. Definitely pulls harder than when I had the JB4. Ran 11.51 last night in a full weight S5 on the E40 map.

Right on then! I was looking at unitronic as well, still undecided as to which I want to go with. I still have another year and a half before my CPO is up though. Ill probably do a flash tune in another year or so if I can hold myself back for that long.

I am yes. I can't see it being more than 15% drivetrain loss due to the advancements in technology over the years and making the vehicles more efficient. To be completely honest though, I am not sure, I just started researching this platform more.

Due to the lack of fueling I think they won't be able to utilize full E85 unless they come up with some sort of direct injector upgrade. So far the highest concentration I have heard of is E40, similar to B8's.

APR currently has an E60-E85 tune. Pretty sure EPL is working on something like an E60 with E40 file available now.

Correct. If you try E85 you're going to get flow issues.

EPL is working on full E85, but E40 will be faster until a new HPFP is made.

You're absolutely right! My apologies! I would never run APR on my cars so it was my bad for not looking at their site before I made that claim.

My experience using their software wasn't the greatest, I know of too many other customers with crappy experiences, their parts are made in China, you have to go to a dealer to have your car tuned, and above all I can't support a company with poor business ethics and a lack of morals. That doesn't cover it all, but I'm sure it paints you a picture, haha.
