LiquiMoly Full Synthetic 5-40, OEM Mann filter. Although dealer states every 10k or full year, I do every 5k. You can find kits on EuropaParts.com or build yourself a kit on rock auto.

Mobil1 or Castrol euro spec (found cheap at wal fart).

Whatever OEM brand is cheapest at that moment, Mahle, Mann or Hengst.

Right now, I'm on an 11k interval with an oil lab providing guidance.
    2013 A6 3.0T - Slightly better than poverty package.

    Past:
    2009 A4 2.0T Avant - Totaled

1997 A4 1.8T - Totaled, repaired, sold years later better than before

Lots of threads on this. Plenty of fanboys. Any full synthetic 502/503 VW certified oil of reasonable viscosity (5w30, 5w40, 0w30, 0w40) will protect the engine.

If you really want to drill down deeply into this, go here.

    https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/201...-test-ranking/

Its a dense detailed blog by a professional automotive engineer constantly updating testing of engine oils, now over 200. This is a severe test for sheer failure, the pressure point where the oil film no longer keeps rotating metal surfaces from coming into contact.

This blog is the equivalent of several hundred pages. The ratings and associated psi point of sheer failure are about deep into the body of text. Scroll down.

Of all the oils tested, one particular formulation of Mobil 1 was the highest rated VW502/503 certified oil: Mobil 1 FS (European Formula) 0w40.

Mann filters are excellent and can be bought in bulk on Amazon at very reasonable prices.

    I change between 6,000 and 7,500 miles.

    VW 502 spec oil.

    Mobil 1 European Blend
    Valvoline European Blend
    Castrol
    Motul
    Pentosin
    Liquimoly

    These are all good choices.

For filter I get on Amazon and order a Mann filter. Mann makes the OEM filter.

For me I use a 10,000 mile change interval. Motor has about 205,000 miles on it now. Some will swear that you should do a 5K change despite the fact that Audi says 10,000 mile interval. Synthetic oil will last easily 15,000 miles

Good to see another call it Wally World, even though there are many of us. I miss cruising down the 101, Rudy's Country Store and BBQ and the Salt River. Thanks COVID...
