Everything falls out of the glove box

While the glove box is a decent size, the bottom is pretty small. Things seem to spill out when it is opened. Does anyone use any type of organizer, etc. that helps?

Shoot mine is the same way and I was also wondering this. My wife suggested ziplock bags but I’m feeling that’s kind of tacky.

I was surprised to see a CD player in the glove box. But can’t comment on stuff falling out.

Ditto on the glove compartment dumpster box. I found a small plastic bin at Walmart (I think it is part of desk organizer bins) that I'm using temporarily. It's a perfect width and height but not nearly long enough. It also tends to fall out, though, because of the odd shape of the bottom of the glove compartment; but at least it slides out as one bin and not a lot of loose stuff.

As a permanent solution, I plan to make a custom bin. I'm nearly done with one I made for the storage compartment by the driver's knee and just today started working on a template for one in the glove compartment. It is more tricky because of the odd shape of the bottom (which is why stuff falls out) but I think I can solve the problem. Both of these are such obvious aftermarket needs, I'm surprised no one makes them commercially.

I have a US RS7 and had to look for the CD player but didn’t find one. While I still have a ton of CD’s, most of my music is digital now so I don’t know how much I’d use it.

Thanks for reminding me about the knee storage compartment, I had completely forgotten about it. I’d be curious to see what you came up with for it and the glove box, please post pics.

Storage tray for driver's storage compartment.

This is the acrylic box I made for the driver's storage compartment. It could use a little clean-up, I may paint it, and a divider across the center for organization may be helpful; but for now it works great. I don't like the static charge it builds up but, meh, not too bad. It was easy as I have a table saw but you could probably make it with a $5 plastic scoring tool using the score & snap method.

The glove compartment is much more complicated but I'll post some pics if I come up with a viable solution.

Outside dimensions are 11 x 6.5 x 1.25". It's great to be able to just slide it out grab what you want out of it and slide it back in.

Solution for the dumpster glove box

Well, I finally solved the problem of the dumpster glove box…but it is definitely not an easy solution. It required a lot of measuring, mockup, and cutting odd angles using a table saw. In any case I made a wooden box shaped to fit the peculiar shape of the glove box along with two ledge pieces to support the front of the box and which fit snuggly into two of the recesses under the rubber mat in the bottom of the glovebox. Anyway here it is.

Like the box for the compartment next to the driver’s knee, these are parts screaming for a drop-in aftermarket solution.

Very nice work. I don’t have the skills or time to replicate. Hopefully someone will market something similar.

Anyone looking for the normal cover with flap, it’s less than $50 I think. They only have one version in polyester.
