Their website doesn't have one listed and their shopping cart engine is broken and won't check me out. Seems like a red flag to me but others have done business with them in the past so...

For a couple of reasons, they don't have all the parts I need, and second GAP is cheaper. I spread my buys between a few suppliers.

It’s weird that all the “genuine” and “oem” websites are all pretty much using the same backend services. And none of them have a number listed.

GAP arguably has the best prices.

I think many audi dealers have 2nd online website to sell part directly, they use same Audi system and no phone number provided. I bought from many difference websites (dealer) and all are good, fast shipping.

Their price are much better than many well known websites.

Totally agree. Just find it weird that no one has called or emailed me back. If I was in charge of sales, my agents would be following up with potential customers.

I’m a big fan of GAP. I knew they were operated by Audi San Diego on Miramar Road. I tried to order some parts not long after the site stopped working. So because I knew who operated the site, I called the parts department at Audi SD. I forget who I spoke with (Craig? Carl?), but he told me that Audi NA was cracking down (or “disincentivising”) dealers from offering parts on independently operated sites like GAP. Audi NA wanted to centralize the sales through the main parts website (parts.audiusa.com) and control prices more uniformly. I know the GAP website still functions, but they’ve turned off the actual sales function. It’s pretty much only good for sourcing part numbers and diagrams.

You can still go through Audi San Diego’s parts department directly or on the main Audi parts website, and you’ll get their excellent service. If you want to go through a dealer, there’s one in Ft Lauderdale that seems to have slightly lower prices than the other dealers. Otherwise, some dealers sell parts via eBay, and the next-best one I’ve encountered is FCPeuro.com. Their prices are near-retail, but everything is lifetime warrantied including the motor oil they sell you. Just not filters.

This is the number for Audi SD’s parts department: 888-691-5355

Thanks for the information. Makes complete sense now. I guess greed is good. I've found FCP to be a little light on B7 2.0 fsi parts and the ones I've broken off are hard to find and reputable aftermarket vendors are hard to find.

Good luck. I’m Not sure it’s all greed motivated. Sure, some of it is about money, but another aspect is control over the brand and reputation. But give Audi SD a call; there’s nothing to lose. They have been terrific for me. You’ll find that there is a bit of price variation on each dealer’s particular parts.audiusa.com site.

I also know they never really had a phone number bc they didn’t want to employ a call center to keep prices lower. Thus, they would try to operate strictly by email customer service.

Good news! GAP is still alive and kicking. Rich Albach emailed me back and straightened things out. I was using AMEX and their shopping cart has that card turned off. I used a Visa and I'm good to go. I'm so glad because their prices are definitely the cheapest I can find.
