What are your power goals for your B9 S4/S5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi guys,

For those who have decided to mod their B9 S4/S5 performance-wise, I was just curious what your power goals were. Obviously having more power is always nice, but I suppose it also depends on the purpose for your car as well. My initial goal was to be able to have a somewhat hopefully reliable ride that could hang with stock base stingrays and stock GTRs on the top-end.

    Interested in hearing your thoughts.

    Thank you!

For me it is more about responsiveness. I have always owned turbo cars with the exception of a supercharged mini and two naturally aspirated Z32’s with all bolt ons. I love the power of a turbo but not a fan of lag. So to sum it up.. more of everyday power and responsiveness knowing I would have to give up a little bit on the top end. This is still considered my daily although it primarily is being used for longer trips.

Same with having a responsive turbocharged car, but I wouldn't mind having a 450 - 500 whp S4. My GTI makes 410whp and it's fun, but it's still FWD.

I want to run mid 10 second 1/4s on street tires. Full weight 93 octane. Daily driver with no reliability issues

500 would be awesome, but 450 crank is more realistic for me.

Would be nice to see some aftermarket exhaust manifolds made to support standard full frame turbos vs the hybrids which seem to be limited and running into challenges lately.

With the 8 speed auto i'd be fine with a GTX35R or 40R to get more top end out of these cars.

Responsive turbocharged car is the main goal for the daily driver, which could be reached also with upgraded TTE510 turbo and get 10.9s on 1\4m, 0-100km in 3s (0-60m 2.9s) and 100-200 about 7.5s with 93 octane on street tires. So car could compete with stock GTR, lightly tuned M3/M4/RS4/RS5.

Also waiting for their tune, as I understood, it will be ready in the beginning of the February. But with upgraded turbo, car definitely need TCU tune to show the full potential of this turbo.

From what we've seen there's 2 or 3 other components that actually "run out' before the hybrid turbos themselves. We have addressed 1 area already and have the other 2 in the works. You're going to see a lot of fast cars in 2021!

    We have the ZF8HP65 right?

Also, anyone running hybrid turbos care to chime in with their thoughts after some seat time? I'd be happy with a usable 550bhp without a ton of lag over stock, so maybe TTE510 is a possibility.

450 crank was my goal and with the APR tune and accompanying mods I'm there if not exceeded it. Why 450? Growing up I remember when the Viper GTS came out with 450 HP and everyone went nuts. Somehow that always stood out to me. So 25 years later and with 5 Liters of displacement smaller and missing 4 additional cylinders..I got my goal (yay technology).

Gone: Mk7.5 Golf R : IE Stage 1 Tune, 18x9 Enkei RPF1, H&R Spacers, 034 Motorsports TIP and Intake Hose, Mountune DSG Paddles, Autokey LED front and rear footwell lights
Gone: 2019 Audi S4: APR 93 Tune, AWE FMIC, Eventuri Intake, 034 Motorsport springs, BBS CHR Wheels, Muffler Delete, ECS Tranny Mount, RS4 Paddles and some other stuff I forgot about.

Yes! I remember that too, what a sexy beast of a car that was. And 450hp from a production car was a big deal back then!

Whatever gets me consistent 3.5 0-60 times (without 1ft rollout). APR tune has me to 3.84 so not too far off. Previously it was just sub 4.0 but that came easily! Similar to what others have stated. Those benchmarks from when I were a kid stand strong, so it is fun to be able to hit some of them.

Can anyone confirm the safe upper torque limit for this particular ZF8 GB installed in our car? I heard there are more than 1 model of ZF8 and with different limits. Thanks.
