    B9 s4 comfort

So thinking about a b9 s4. I used to have a b8 a4 sport pack and the seats were not very comfy at all for me, had to sell the car in 18months. I’ve had b9 a4 loaners for about a day or two at a time and they seemed comfy. What about the s4? What about longer term comfort? Anyone have a comparison with a b8? I’m 6’ 200lbs, thanks in advance.

I’ve had B9 platform for about 4 years collectively between both S4s. I’ve driven south to NC mind you I am from NJ. Driven to Vermont for the slopes and it’s been a pleasant drive. I’m 5’11 at 210lbs. I do agree with the B8 seats, They were comfortable for short distances but long drives after an hr or so definitely needed to stop and stretch a bit.

By far this is one of the most comfortable cars I have ever had. Ride quality is stellar, seats are phenomenal and quiet as well. My old S3 was the polar opposite. So comfort wise...the B9 S4 is stellar. I crossed shopped the C43 and M340i...the S4 still won out at the end. The C-Class build quality is lacking, the M340i felt rather downscale on the interior front and the gauges were horrendous (amazing drivetrain though).

I’m the opposite, I tend to constantly adjust my seat as I never feel just right in them. Part of it is the feeling I’m up too high for me to position my seat the way I want without hitting my head on the roof. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the massaging seats I’d really hate them in the S4. Truly one of the few that dislike the seats.

I’m 6’2 and 210lbs. I’ve only been in the B9.5 S4 for about a week. I’d say so far the seats are comfortable but not stellar. My hope is that they break in a bit and soften. Feel a touch stiff to me. Lots of adjustments which is obviously a good thing. Still haven’t found my happy place yet. More to come.

When I bought my S4 (with sports Nappa leather massage seats) I drove it from Indiana to NC non stop. Almost 12 hours straight, and it was a breeze. I can't think of any other car in which I could have done that comfortably besides a minivan. Definitely one comfy car.

. I felt the same way when I sat in a SQ5. Put the seat to the floor and still felt way too high up.

Right? My head hits the top when I position it the way I feel comfortable. I wish I could drop her an inch or so more. Little frustrating in long drives.

Exactly! The deals they were offering on the SQ5 were really tempting but couldn’t get over that seating position. Granted no regrets on the S4 side!

The B9 S4 seats are by far the best I’ve every experienced. I have the Napa leather and massaging ones. I’ve a couple, couple thousand mile drives and they are Nirvana. I’m 6’7” and 230lbs and they are just perfect. Getting in and out with my old monkey butt is a bit annoying at times, but otherwise I love them like no other.

Ive had my B9 S4 since july, I've got about 5k miles on it so far and it is by far the most comfortable vehicle I've owned or sat in. Longest drive so far for me has been about 2 hours one way and never did I have discomfort.

Like any vehicle though, it took me a few different seating positions to find the sweet spot. I'm also 6FT and a heavier gentleman..

People saying these are the most comfortable seats must have a different anatomy than me, because after about an hour I legit have nerve pain from these seats. And the massage function is a total joke/gimmick. Overall not the worst seats for sure, but on comfort I'd give it a 6.5/10 (I'm 6ft and 220 lbs). Now the volvos I've been in on the other hand - soft, supple, supportive.

100% agree. i crossed shopped the same ones, and even performance wise, as a daily there was’t the big difference that everyone says between the M340 and S4.

I found my B8.5 s4 seats to be more comfortable than my B9 S5 seats. I find the bottoms of the B9 seats are flatter and less supple.

I think mine started off extremely comfortable... But through modding I've ruined it somewhat... Gotta realize there's some trade off between comfort and handling/performance.

Nine months after my initial statement, and it still rings true: best seat I have ever experienced. I drove from UT to OH and back for the longest trip and didn’t even have to move around they were so perfect. We moved to CO last year and I drove back and forth there a few times- again, sublime.

The massage function works for me. The side bolsters hold me in perfectly. I have a bad lower back, and it does perfect lumbar support. My only complaint is not having cooled seats (not an option with Napa Leather).

I’ve just started commuting again, and I’ve fallen in love with the car all over- even sitting in traffic like the rest of the lemmings- and the highlight is the supreme comfort I’m sitting in.

I had a B8.5 and a B9 and I think the B8.5 seats were more supportive for lateral G forces for sure, but the B9 seats are more comfortable for long drives.
